Was that you on 790 or did you just happen to listen to 790 today?

I did a lot of driving in Houston today and I listened to about 30 minutes of 790 and 610 blabbering on about the Joe Pa deal this monring. Got sick and flipped it to 740; Herman Cain sexual assault scandal was blarring all day. Seemed like no matter where I turned, even Hannity, there was 'sex, sex, sex and more sex'. I guess sex sells, no matter how perverted or absurd it is.

He would have been better off not doing this. No clue how he can walk out his house smiling like that after this situation.

At this point it wouldn't shock me if Paterno did some things to some kids.

I'm guessing it stopped pretty quickly if they made any eye contact. He should have gotten the kid and called the cops immediately....

Instead he was probably shocked this wasn't a complete stranger but somebody that he probably respected he called his dad than the higher-ups

And that where was when the cover-up starts...

Statement by The Pennsylvania State University Board of Trustees
    Tuesday, November 8, 2011

The Board of Trustees of The Pennsylvania State University is outraged by the horrifying details contained in the Grand Jury Report. As parents, alumni and members of the Penn State Community, our hearts go out to all of those impacted by these terrible events, especially the tragedies involving children and their families. We cannot begin to express the combination of sorrow and anger that we feel about the allegations surrounding Jerry Sandusky. We hear those of you who feel betrayed and we want to assure all of you that the Board will take swift, decisive action.

At its regular meeting on Friday, November 11, 2011, the Board will appoint a Special Committee, members of which are currently being identified, to undertake a full and complete investigation of the circumstances that gave rise to the Grand Jury Report. This Special Committee will be commissioned to determine what failures occurred, who is responsible and what measures are necessary to insure that this never happens at our University again and that those responsible are held fully accountable. The Special Committee will have whatever resources are necessary to thoroughly fulfill its charge, including independent counsel and investigative teams, and there will be no restrictions placed on its scope or activities. Upon the completion of this investigation, a complete report will be presented at a future public session of the Board of Trustees.

Penn State has always strived for honesty, integrity and the highest moral standards in all of its programs. We will not tolerate any violation of these principles. We educate over 95,000 students every year and we take this responsibility very seriously. We are dedicated to protecting those who are placed in our care. We promise you that we are committed to restoring public trust in the University.

Yeah, but his lack of fortitude and several other people's complacency are seriously messed up.

What the hell... I will try and defend Ziggy. We do not know what exactly Paterno knew. According to Paterno he was not told exactly what happened. He then reported to the AD, as required. He may very well have assumed the issue was investigated and no wrong doing was found. Also, what if the accusation was false? Paterno did not want to jump to any conclusions...

Having said that, it really bothers me that Paterno never inquired or had further conversations with the AD after that point... I cannot get over that point.

Secondly, there have been multiple investigations towards Sandusky. The earliest I'm aware of in my limited searching is 1998 when he was accused of showering with a boy. JoePa doesn't know the exact details? Fine, but he participated in the coverup or willfully ignored red flags to indefensible actions that were allowed to continue and affect more victims. This situation will probably look a lot more damning as more details get unearthed.

The man is bordering on senile and it doesn't help his cause to have a hundred immature 18-22 yr old kids yelling out support on his lawn like they're at some sort of pep rally.

Dude, to go out like this is no one's fault but his. He wouldn't have to go out like this if he DID WHAT ANY PERSON IN HIS POSITION SHOULD HAVE DONE!

I don't think anyone should feel sad for him in this situation. Reserve the emotion for the victims!

LOL. Sandusky "...It's the opportunity to throw out a rope to some kids and if they grab hold they can be champions."

Using his pedo lines on national tv.

    Wow, Sandusky is creepy.

Look, I understand the anger. It makes me angry. As far as criminals here, my list goes like this:

    1. Sandusky
    2. McQuery (or however you spell the GA's name)

    3. Administration (all of them)

    4. Paterno

I'm not saying with this, by any means, that Paterno should not be fired. I think he has earned the right, through reputation, legacy, etc., etc. to be given a due process of an investigation on this matter. This is a horrible thing. What's been done has been done. The university covered it up, and they look horrible. In my opinion, you're not going to gain too many morality points by up and firing the guy that put you on the map, without giving him due process. They should suspend him for the time the investigation takes. I'm not saying this is fair, and I'm not trying to defend Paterno. I think he should have left about 8 years ago. I also think he should be forced to resign over this whole mess. I think his whole crew should be shown the door. This is going to be a tear-it-down-build-it-from-the-ground-up-type deal.

I think the GA punk should be arrested for not manning up and stopping what he witnessed right there. Ultimately, in my opinion, this falls on him. I think he is the one ultimately at fault here. You WITNESS something like that, and you can't man up and defend an innocent kid? Really? The guy should be thrown in jail. He should have been the ultimate whistle blower, and blown this university out of the water. Instead, it looks like he was rewarded a promotion (and probably hush money). The whole thing reeks of cover-up. Hell, the more I think about it, the more angry I am. I guess Paterno should be fired.

True Sandusky and the higher ups are the ones that are the most messed up...

Paterno needs to be out just b/c of association he could have done more but I think you can somewhat what you can justify his actions. And by somewhat I mean he did the bare minimum legally..

Paterno reported to the higher ups whom is in charge of the campus police they likely come back and say its been investigated and its been cleared. And life goes on.

Paterno didn't witness the acts and he cant see in the future (more incidents)

Again Paterno should have done more but hes not in the same evil as Sandusky and the higher ups based on the information that I've heard so far.....

Umm..in Penn State football, actually, at the entire university - there is no more of a "higher up" than him.

He is the higher up. Pater-no. You can't even make it up.

It's like saying Tony Soprano witnessed one of his crew get killed at the Bada Bing club but fulfilled his obligations by reporting it up to the night manager.
