    Patriots waive Haynesworth

@RapSheet: BREAKING: The Patriots have released DT Albert Haynesworth, I'm reporting. Wow. The release of DT Albert Haynesworth, which I am reporting, comes two days after a sideline confrontation with DL coach Pepper Johnson.

Haynesworth... such a waste of talent.

I'm sure he'll get picked up though.

All of the Patriots FA splashes have completely bombed this season. Shaun Ellis, Ocho, Fat Albert... hell, their best pickup has been Antwan friggin' Molden.

Is that a coincidence? Patriots really can't utilize talent well. They do, however, have a nice formula for winning. I think players with big ego's just can't make it in New England. Belichick doesn't stand for that ****, doesn't matter if you're talented.

Errmm... I think NE has had its fair share of dramaqueen attention hogs over the past decade. Thing is, Billy usually keeps them in check.

Patriots D is a disaster and they have no speed down the field on offense and a joke of a running game. Brady can get away with dink and dunking to Welker and his TEs, but they Patriots are pretty much who they've been for the last 5 years, regular season stalwarts who crumble in the postseason when facing teams that clamp down on their short passing game.

I was completely wrong about their signings, assumed they would all pan out. On the basis that the Patriots can do no wrong. Add Bodden and Meriweather to the list of high profile cuts too.

Did they lose someone in the front office or something? What happened to the Patriots' San Antonio Spurs-like ability to judge, mold, and repurpose talent?

3 or 4 years?? It's been about 3 years since he was even relevant. He's not even worth the time it takes for him to workout for a team. The guy is fat, lazy, a complete ass****, and dirty. Actually, maybe the Titans should look at him again....

I believed from the very beginning he would completely fail after getting the fat contract from Snyder.

Albert isn't hungry anymore. Any team that signs him will be getting an average player, at best.

Their front office and coaching staff has gone through a brain drain the last few years, with the departure of Scott Pioli, Charlie Weis, Romeo Crennel, etc. There's only so much transition your team can overcome.

3 out or 4 traits for a productive DT in this league... Problem is lazy> complete ass+dirty+ fat

Probably not the best choice of words given the fact that he weighs 800 lbs. ;)

But no, seriously, at this point he maybe should consider retiring. He was such a non-factor in the games I watched. As a DL, if you can't sniff the field in a 4-3 scheme there's a good chance your best case scenario is being a depth guy -- something somebody with an ego might not be willing to accept.
