True, but the fact remains that Gary Kubiak HAS this team playing 6-3 football RIGHT NOW. Cowher is by no means a guarantee. If anything, his track record would dictate that he struggles early on with a team.

It comes down to the Tampa and Atlanta games. We win 12 if we split these games. 13 if we win both

Talk of the Houston Texans winning 12 or 13 games sends me into alternate universe weirdness. It's like Pardee's Oilers made the SuperBowl. Or Bum's won it.

What track record is that? He went 11-5 in his first season as a head coach, taking over a 7-9 team from the previous year. He took a team that had made the playoffs once over the previous 7 years to 6 straight playoff appearances in his first 6 seasons.

guys, these past couple of wins have been against teams we're supposed to beat. lets beat playoff teams like the Saints, Ravens or Patriots first. i still dont think we're tough enough and capable of beating these teams, all because of, unfortunately, our coach.

Erp derp. You're absolutely correct. I have no idea why I thought Cowher towed .500 his first few seasons in Pittsburgh. My bad.

    Tampa/ATL/Cinci, need to take 2 of 3

Hopefully the Bengals will be banged up after going through the Pit/Bal/Pit meatgrinder.

Tampa has a lousy run defense so hopefully we can run it down their throats next week.

ATL is a wildcard, they've been playing better lately.

I don't see why you wouldn't think we're incapable of beating the Saints. We came darn close earlier this season, and that was without Foster and a D that was still finding it's legs.

Patriots are not great this year.

I suspect you're just reluctant to declare the Texans a top tier team this year due to prior suckage. Understandable. I can hardly believe it either.

I need to see consistency, and that means beating good teams. These passed couple of games haven't showed me anything new.

Nobody consistently beats good teams. That's why they're good teams.

My ISSUE IS . . . 12-4 this year . .. extends Kubiak at least 4 more years
He has next year already . . .and If he gets 12-4 I suspect McNair
extends him at least three more. . .. giggling talking about how HE TOLD US SO

Then we move on to harder schedules . .etc. . .
and then we become a solid 9-7/10-6 team for the next 4 yrs
and 1st round fodder AT BEST

Ok, but winning more than half of the games played against good teams. THEN I will get hyped up. Right now we're just an above average team thats not good enough to win it all.

Oh, good LORD. And people are questioning MY logic (while completely missing the point of my post)...

You're all right. Let's fire Kubiak right now and bring in an entirely different coaching staff in the middle of what's most likely going to be an 11-5 or 12-4 season with a possible 1st round bye. What could possibly go wrong?

We have the best O-line in the league, the best RB duo in the league, one of the best defenses in the league....but none of that matters because of the "easy" schedule, so let's fire the coach!

If he goes 12-4, he will have earned more time......maybe Kubiak is a late bloomer?

Having Wade as the DC has helped him a lot.
