I guess I would call it a take on the buddy cop story. Bruce Willis and Damon Wayans undertake an investigation, though neither of them is actually a cop. Probably Bruce's most underrated movie.
Watching Ray Lewis getting his team fired up in pregame, I think Cushing can steup up and become the emotional leader in very much the same way. It'll be hard to go from being Demeco's first mate to becoming a defensive leader, but at least for this season, it's something I hope to see.
It is overrated the whole dancing and screaming like he has fire ants crawling up his jock. I was watching that too, but for the first time I looked at those around him. A couple of the linemen looked like they were going to burst out laughing. I thought that was funny. Cushing is a leader by the way he is leaving everything out there and joseph too. Cody and smith are very vocal. Anyone hear cody gloss himself "cody island" after that int? funny stuff.
I feel the same way about Rex Ryan and how many trips he makes to the emotional well too. But the few times NFLN would show the Texans on a mic'd up or a pregame segment, Demeco would get his crew amped in the same way as Lewis, with less of the "fire ants". Cushing is undoubtedly an alpha dog and he's probably assumed that role in this D already. It will be interesting to see who defers between him and Demeco when Demeco is back to 100%.
Wade: Cushing, I need the ball. Cushing: You need the ball. Wade: I need you to get me the ball. Cushing: I'm going to get you the ball. Wade: Are you gonna get me the ball! Cushing: I wanna get you the ball! [then runs on the field] Wade: I hope he doesn't kill someone.
