Too bad A&M lost this game. It really affects their chance of winning the conference championship. I was really hoping A&M would win out, get some help with OSU losing some gams, and then they could get that BCS bowl and get matched up with the University of Houston Coogs. Who knows, maybe there is still yet some luck left.
Sorry, I know the Aggies too well. There is a 1 in million chance they win out, but most likely they lose to the Sooners next week and possibly KSU, end the regular season unranked and going to the Alamo Bowl against Arizona St. or in the Insight Bowl against Michigan/Mich. St/Wisconsin.
Where oh where did the best Texas team go? Whre is all the trash talk against the ****ty big 12. As a longhorn this is totally worth trolling.
Yeah Brando. Not saying don't troll, but wait until Turkey day see if you have a leg to stand on. As for the Big 12, the never said the Big 12 was ****ty, just that for overall exposure and everything else the SEC is better. That was the truth especially when the conference was left for dead until about 5 weeks ago.
1 BIG 12 (A) = 84.68 84.13 ( 1) 10 84.36 ( 1) 2 SOUTHEASTERN (A) = 81.25 81.58 ( 2) 12 81.35 ( 2) 3 BIG TEN (A) = 75.27 74.18 ( 4) 12 74.47 ( 4) 4 PAC-12 (A) = 75.26 75.41 ( 3) 12 75.31 ( 3) 5 ATLANTIC COAST (A) = 73.07 72.55 ( 5) 12 72.67 ( 5)
OU lost to an unranked team at home. KSU wouldn't be making all this noise in the Big Ten or SEC. Pee-pee game stats.
SamF, You can point to stats that this 1 year shows the Big 12 is better than the SEC all you want. Fact is though, that most of America views the SEC as better than the Big 12 and over the past few years that has held true in Bowl Games and OOC games. I would even argue a good portion of America (not in the states of Kansas, Texas, and Oklahoma) might even view the Big 10 or Pac 12 as consistently better than the Big 12, despite that not being true. Perception, along with winning, is everything when it comes to money, TV exposure, and overall benefit to the conference and the universities comprising that conference. Moving to the SEC is much better move to improve the national awareness of A&M in football, all other sports, and as a university going foreword.
One time the Big 12 had all these ballerina quarterbacks. The nation was infatuated with them. Zac Robinson. Chase Daniel. Harrell. Reesing. I can't quite remember what year, or the exact QB's (because they were unimpressive). Anyways, yeah, those QB's all sucked. Instead of saying oh hey, lookie here, the Big 12 sucks at defense everyone tried to jump on the Big 12 bandwagon. Sickens me.
You may have facts...but I have bias and illusory perception! Let me tell you something about perception. Nationally nobody in places that matter (this does not include starkville, gainesville, etc) really cares about Texas Agricultural & Mechanical University, and that probably wont' change regardless of what conference they play in.
They do - Texas A&M's athletics department, however, was not making a profit. Which is why they borrowed the money.
It's one thing to make a fact to support your argument, like your first sentence. It's another to use a hypothetical scenario to support your point, like your second sentence. Minus a stupid collpase by Aggies, they would have demolished an Arkansas team, no? and this Arkansas team is 8-1 this year, with multiple wins over SEC teams. Aggies are scraping the bottom of the BIG12 barrel, and here you have one of the top teams of the SEC barely beat A&M. Plz use good arguments plz.
Is the BCS a good system? I'll deliver good arguments when there's a good system for determining who's good. If you want good Ziggy arguments go read the conference realignment thread or something. You wont find any logical BCS talk from me, because the BCS isn't logical.
I don't know brah, I can go pull all kinds of things that outline TAMU Football's profitability but I get your pee-pee game - TAMU Athletics had to borrow money - blurb. Which demonstrates a clear lack of understanding on your part. I understand the BCS. Its a pee-pee game. Lets talk more about the BCS and TAMU. Once, TAMU lost to Texas. The result -- Texas went to a Bowl game. Had TAMU won, Texas would not have gone to a bowl game. They would have gone to the Cotton Bowl.... instead of TAMU. TAMU had incentive to lose to Texas. TAMU lost and got a better Bowl game. Also known as a pee-pee game. BCS = pee-pee games.
