I'm rebuilding around him. The talent they have on that team doesn't quite fit and it is also time more was asked of Howard. My goal is to rebuild and win a championship in 3 years. We'll start by putting in a defense with the following assumptions; 1. Howard will beat his man to the block on every transition. 2. Our offense will be designed so that the guards will always be in position to stop the break. 3. I'll find Howard a decent 4 to cover his backside, grab some rebounds, and allow him more freedom to be disruptive defensively. Howard needs a team and not just a bunch of basketball players.
Obviously this is all a hypothetical game, but do you think Howard would re-sign with the Magic for a rebuilding project.
I think it's evident he wants to win, and be remembered as a champion, not a good player who never won the big game. At the same time, he sees what happened to Lebron and Melo, wants to stay loyal and be the good teammate. I also think he wants to remain the top player, not be remembered as someone who joined a Big 3.
