Talking about a steal, my pick #5 was none other than Fred Jackson at #60 overall! Considering I was picking last in a 12-team league, I ain't doing bad at all for now.
1. (2) Ray Rice (Bal - RB) 2. (23) Mike Wallace (Pit - WR) 3. (26) Ahmad Bradshaw (NYG - RB) 4. (47) Vernon Davis (SF - TE) 5. (50) Matt Schaub (Hou - QB) 6. (71) A.J. Green (Cin - WR) 7. (74) Julio Jones (Atl - WR) 8. (95) Darren Sproles (NO - RB) 9. (98) Jacquizz Rodgers (Atl - RB) 10. (119) Eli Manning (NYG - QB) 11. (122) Hines Ward (Pit - WR) 12. (143) Jermaine Gresham (Cin - TE) 13. (146) Lawrence Timmons (Pit - LB) 14. (167) New York (NYG - DEF) 15. (170) Matt Bryant (Atl - K) 16. (191) Donnie Avery (Ten - WR) 17. (194) Titus Young (Det - WR) Darren Sproles is the best value pick up for me. Mike Wallace is being Mike Wallace. My highest drafted Cut was Quizz Rodgers. I had high hopes for Titus Young. I thought Sam Bradford and Donnie Avery would have some type of connection going on this year, but that never happened.
7 of my top 8 picks have been pretty steady producers minus some short-term injuries. Mccoy and Jimmy Graham have absolutely carried me. After 8 it's pretty ugly which is why I have zero depth. 1. (8) LeSean McCoy 2. (17) Tom Brady 3. (32) Steven Jackson 4. (41) Dez Bryant 5. (56) Marques Colston 6. (65) Santana Moss 7. (80) Sidney Rice 8. (89) Jimmy Graham 9. (104) C.J. Spiller 10. (113) Davone Bess 11. (128) Ryan Torain 12. (137) Jabar Gaffney 13. (152) Marcedes Lewis 14. (161) Jacoby Jones 15. (176) Detroit 16. (185) Stephen Tulloch 17. (200) Josh Brown
Forever Zoidberg 1. (6) Darren McFadden (Oak - RB) 2. (19) Matt Forte (Chi - RB) 3. (30) Vincent Jackson (SD - WR) 4. (43) Brandon Lloyd (StL - WR) 5. (54) Dallas Clark (Ind - TE) 6. (67) Matt Ryan (Atl - QB) 7. (78) Reggie Bush (Mia - RB) 8. (91) Mike Sims-Walker (Jac - WR) 9. (102) Patrick Willis (SF - LB) 10. (115) Lance Moore (NO - WR) 11. (126) Rashad Jennings (Jac - RB) 12. (139) Chicago (Chi - DEF) 13. (150) Denarius Moore (Oak - WR) 14. (163) Sebastian Janikowski (Oak - K) 15. (174) Aaron Hernandez (NE - TE) 16. (187) Ryan Fitzpatrick (Buf - QB) 17. (198) Ben Tate (Hou - RB) After nabbing 2 stud RBs, The middle rounds killed me. Dallas Clark, Sims-walker, Reggie, Matt Ryan, ugh. Luckily I was able to snag a studly defense, K, QB and TE in the latter rounds, and Ben Tate was certainly decent for a little while. Picking up Cam Newton solidified my QB position and I was able to make some trades. Now I'm just waiting on McFadden and Best to return to health so I can continue my dominance. Last couple weeks have been rough with injuries and byes.
I wish I had the balls to take McCoy at #5. I really was hoping Rice would make it that far. Also wish I had the balls to take Graham, I knew he was talented, but Brees always spreads it around.
Hey guys give me some feedback here... 1.)Do you like the scoring system the way it is? Any changes you'd like to see be made? 2.) Do you like playing 1 IDP? Would you rather play more IDPs and do away with team defenses or would you rather stick with things the way they are? 3.) It gets harder to fill out a lineup as the weeks go by with 7 skill positions to fill (WR/WR/RB/RB/TE/FLEX/FLEX), would you rather keep the 2 flex system or drop it down to 1 flex position? 4.) Waivers. Right now we're kind of first come first serve, I guess a waiver system would be fair. I don't really like the "waiver priority" method, so I'm thinking about doing an auction system for next year. 5.) Keeper league. We seem to have a lot of devoted players in this league who keep it very competitive. This is year 3 now and we have a pretty good core, would anyone like to try doing a Keeper league? We'd have the initial draft next year, but you could start trading picks this season before the deadline. However, there won't be any keepers held over from this season.
1. I like the scoring system, it really seems to balance the WRs with the RBs and keep the QBs in check. But I wouldn't b**** and moan if someone else had any new suggestions. 2. Two IDPs max IMO, keep team defenses, adds strategy -- take a defense early or play the waivers. 3. Keep 2. 4. Don't care that much. How does the auction system work? 5. Definitely go keeper!
The auction system is pretty simple. You get a budget (say 1000 dollars) to start the season with. You then put in a bid on a FA on Monday, then on Wednesday the FA is awarded to whoever bid the highest.
1) I have no complaints -- easy for me to say, being in first place as defending champ 2.) Keep team defenses. Wouldn't complain about having 2 IDP but am happy with one and a team defense. 3.) Keep 2 flex. I like the challenge and at the very least there always seems to be a WR you can pick up that has a decent matchup for that week. 4.) Auction system would be great. I'm not always around a computer during games on Sunday so I miss out on breakout performers. 5.) Never done a keeper so I don't know specifics on how it works, but I'm open to the idea. Do you lose a high draft pick if you decide to keep a player? Otherwise I think it would take away from the game if 12+ of the best players were held over.
I've never done one either, but I've always wanted to. I know lesser fantasy enthusiasts that do them and it makes me feel like I'm missing out.
Hey moes, next season if you got a spot open, hook a brotha up. I can always add another championship to my resume....
Nope. Not sure it will work. Especially trading draft picks. I'm 3-5. If I went on a fire sale for draft picks, how would that make the rest of the league feel? What happens when somebody drops out? Can somebody else join, and not be put way behind the 8-ball?
I'm down with a keeper with a fresh draft next year. I've never done one, but am interested. I'd like some type of priority system for waiver wire pickups. Like if there is a guy that everyone wants, i think it's fair if the sorriest team gets first crack at it first. and then maybe after that day, usually wednesday pasts, everyone has free crack at it.
I think we'll hold off on actually trading draft picks or anything right now and we'll figure out if a Keeper league will be in play for next year. Other than that I guess the majority sentiment is keep the settings the same and implement an auction system for waivers.
I like head to head. It forces you to have consistency, rather than capitalizing on a couple of monster scoring weeks. I've been in points leagues that were basically decided by week 10 or 12.
