Lots of players on bye this week (Newton/MJD/etc) Need to fill in a lot of spots RB RB RB/WR WR WR TE OP (any offensive player) QB: Alex Smith RB: Shonn Green, Michael Bush, Darren Sproles WR: Miles Austin, Brandon Lloyd, Victor Cruz, Eric Decker TE: Jason Witten, Fred Davis My starting QB is Drew Brees. Newton is normally the OP starter. Any advice is appreciated!
The real question is why haven't you traded Brees or Newton to upgrade your other spots? There's gotta be some people really hurting for a QB with Rivers/Flacco/Ryan/Schaub/Kolb/Romo all underperforming.
you know your fantasy teams sucks when you're *super* excited about landing James Starks off of waivers... sigh
That's the problem, I really haven't worried about backups since I have A-Rod on the team, he rarely takes a direct hit from the D and has not been injured for the most part besides the concussion last year. Not to mention he is $$$ every single week. I picked up Christian Ponder last week and he netted me a solid 15, I dropped him soon after to shore up my RBs and WRs. Not sure what to do, but seems like Bradshaw might rough it out and go with the broken bone, I'm worried bout his future games tho.... ugh
Josh Cribbs @ Houston or Jordy Nelson @ SD It's PPR and you get 1 pt. for every 20 return yards. I am leaning Cribbs because I believe Houston will score quite a bit in this game giving Cribbs plenty of return chances. Thoughts?
Hard to not play someone who has the best QB, by far, throwing to him. I'd go with Jordy, no question.
Nelson and Brown. I have a feeling they're gonna be all over Jennings and Finley, with Jordy getting free for a TD at some point and Brown is gonna get a lot of targets with Sanders out and Ward slowly being decended down the depth chart.
With Hillis ruled out, I now need a new flex guy. (should NOT have traded Miles Austin for him in week 2...) Jackie Battle Roy Williams Ogbonnaya Laurent Robinson leaning toward Battle, seems like the safest of the bunch.
Battle should get you 5-6 points. You can't afford the likely goose egg those other guys might give you.
Between Austin's health, and poor performance the last couple of weeks, it hasn't been a total loss. Jackie Battle, and it isn't close.
Yeah, the trade cost me a win in Week 2 (lost by 2 points, when Austin went off), but otherwise it's breaking even so far. Just think Austin has more upside from here on out, while the Madden Curse is in full effect on Hillis. Miami has a decent run defense, so I'm gonna tamper my expectations.
With AJ out should I start: Breaston or Doug Baldwin I'm leaning Baldwin cause I expect the Hawks to be behind for most of the game if not a high scoring game, the Dolphins suck on offense so the Cheifs may not have to throw as much and run Battle more so than pass to Breaston.
These are tough choices. If I were you, I'd keep a close eye on Julio Jones. If he seems healthy, play him. He is very young and I expect that his youth will help him. Other than that you really have a crap shoot on your hands. I don't expect antonio brown to have a good game. I actually think that Baltimore is going to give up one on one coverage to Wallace and then try to stop everybody else. For one thing, wallace's routes take longer to develop and this will allow the ravens pass rush to get to ben. I would trend carefully with putting brown in. Jordy Nelson, the problem with him is that it is so hard to predict what he is going to do. He SEEMS great. But a lot of his big games are when he breaks a big one. I'd also say play Reggie Wayne. Sooner or later, the guy has to have a big game, and even if he doesn't have a big game, he is not much worse than Nelson or brown. They are all 5 to 6 catches and 60 yards. Moe, if you really want to go all out, pick up Jeremy Kerley. This guy has a really good chance this week to score. He is getting targets and we all know that Buffalo will be a shot out. This is a REALLY BIG GAME for both teams. And there will be points scored.
Woww, Ryan Mathews is gonna have a very limited role this week. Do I start Michael Bush or DeMarco Murray over him?
