People who just purchased an iPhone4 know they are getting something out of date because the phone is 18 months ago. But overall, I do think Apple handles the psychological aspect well. If you buy an iPhone 4s today, you don't feel like you're going to be behind the times in 2 months. They obviously do other things not as well as Android, but in terms of creating customer satisfaction, they understand that providing less options is not always a bad thing. From a purely rational perspective, you do have out of date stuff, but people aren't rational beings, so someone who had an iPhone 4 two months ago still gets to feel like they have the best iPhone out there. You don't get that with Android - what you buy, there will be something nicer available in a few months. Technically, you're not really locked into 2 year contracts unless you want those telecommunication companies to subsidize your phone. They can't sell you a phone at below cost if they aren't going to make money off the plan later.
Verizon version? Hell yes. I wouldn't even consider it if it weren't lol. Amoled screens provide greater battery life, and I think the 1780mah battery will be okay. If you plan on rooting this phone (Which btw, a root method for it is already out) you're likely to pull alot of juice out of it. I can make a Thunderbolt on a stock 1400mah battery last about 16 hours with a modified kernel.
it's really not about 'learning' you just follow some instructions, and over time, you'll pick up a few things
If you care about having your phone supported with updates for the length of your contract, Nexus Prime is the way to go.
The Nexus line runs stock Android. The GS2 is running Touchwiz 4.0 which is a modified version of Android, and it is currently based on Android 2.3.5. Nexus will launch with Android 4.0 and no carrier or manufacturer modifications.
Nexus is better, the GSII technically came out in the spring. Its an old phone, just didn't make it to the U.S. in a reasonable amount of time. Which pisses me off.
You can turn off LTE in the settings. If you turn off LTE, the battery life be equivalent to a 3G phone. Actually, it could last a bit longer, since it has a more power efficient screen and the dual core processor.
cases for the nexus have arrived at stores: http://www.droid-life.com/2011/11/09/samsung-galaxy-nexus-cases-arrive-at-verizon-stores/ twiddles thumbs again
Heh, yeah I saw that earlier. I would say we are getting close @p3droid has two Nexus' , he has alot of info on it here http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/galaxy-nexus-forum/ Rumor is that it will be available for pre-order on the 17th, and ship date on the 21st
Might come but not officially for a while. You could always go the expensive route of having to import the HSPA+ version. Also, if anyone is interested @P3Droid who has had a pre-release Verizon Nexus made a review on the device. http://www.mydroidworld.com/forums/galaxy-nexus-discussions/10025-galaxy-nexus-review.html
think i'm going to go to a android phone once my contract runs out with ATT. though thats not for about another year, by then a new phone might be out haha, but man, that galaxy nexus looks slick
does anyone know when the 4 gig for $30 will end with verizon? im considering breaking my contract to get this deal and the nexus.
