Pau Gasol will not average just 12 points in the playoffs whenever the playoffs happen.

Sure the team might not get better, but it's still really really really good (a contender). Their weakness was defense, so they hired a defensive-minded coach.

The championship is wide open right now. But you give a coach 2 top 10 players and the best big man rotation in the league, you don't have to worry about him.

Any tidbit on the Delonte West and Gloria James incident? I guess we have to wait and see.

Nope. Lakers are done. Mike Brown can not save them.

Kobe is a crappy human. Not a nice guy.

    Nobody wants to say it.

Since when is the NBA or professional sports a reality TV show?

The Lakers were exhausted after making 3 straight finals and Pau and Odom having to play ridiculous minutes with Bynum constantly gone.

The Lakers go as their frontcourt goes

That was a few years ago. Sorry, didn't mean to say anything negative about the Lakers and upset you.

WTF are you talmbout??? That's the refrain from most corners about Kobe. I actually think he's a nice guy but his arrogance gets in the way at times.

Nothing to be confused about, that's exactly what I said. I should clarify as well and say, odds are that said star player ESPECIALLY if he's won a championship already, will have greater reason to not listen to the new coach and tune out things from the new coach that he finds unpalatable. It's happened before in the league and in other sports. No reason for one to believe it couldn't and wouldn't happen in this situation. All it takes is a bad run of results on the court.

Totally agree. The team may contend in the playoffs but it's highly doubtful that they will get back to the finals with the current team and Mike Brown as head coach imo.

Interesting, Shaq seems very fair with his comments. I didn't expect Shaq to call Lebron out on quitting.

I'm going to get this book.

I've met him, behind the scenes, not in a public venue, no cameras, and i am not a big shot. Not going to lie, straight up he was one of the nicer NBA players I have met, friendlly when his guard was down and didnt need to worry about media or people portraying him, just joked around, was really laid back and cool.

He is an ass on the court bc of his competitive spirit, so is MJ and many of the guys who are just obsessed with winning. He had issues with shaq and crossed lines, shaq did the smae with him.
fact is, we don't know him as a person.

Oh, sure, I'm not denying they COULD win. I don't think anyone expected Dallas to win at the beginning of last season, after all.

Shaud just seems like he's absolutely certain that the Lakers WILL win, and given that they got wtfowned by Dallas in the playoffs and that Mike Brown is obviously much worse than Phil, I don't think they will. From my perspective, it's like claiming that Boston will certainly win next year, which I don't think anyone would claim.

Especially when the previous coach was Phil Jackson, who's basketball knowledge and strategy Kobe respected greatly. You know, the coach he won 5 championships in 11 years with. At one point, MJ said he couldn't imagine playing for another coach. We can only wonder what's on Kobe's mind, especially since he was given no input into the selection.

So the Lakers hire Mike Brown, who is almost PJ's complete opposite. It didn't take Kobe long to miss PJ when Rudy T became Lakers coach. Now it's Mike Brown. When you go from a guy that demands respect from everybody to a Mike Brown, it ain't good.

I don't see the Lakers making the Finals unless Kobe is happy. People can talk all they want about how the Lakers need to transition from Kobe dominating the offense to focus more on feeding the ball inside, but if Kobe isn't on board with it, failure will result. I don't see Mike Brown having the relationship with Kobe needed to get the best out of him. It would be a tough situation for any coach coming in.

The Lakers have other egos besides Kobe. Bynum is a mental yo yo. Pau has mood swings. MWP (Ron Artest) is a complete lunatic. Odom is a space cadet. Indeed, if Kobe ain't happy, a pall will be cast over the entire squad. But other guys on the team have issues that may be way over Mike Brown's head. This team is much more than LeBron and the Seven Dwarfs. If Jim Buss made the hire strictly for Xs & Os reasons, he was misguided.

IMO, Mike Brown was in the same boat as Brian Shaw. Neither guy would have gotten a head coaching position unless it was with the Lakers. Brown won't get another head coaching job after this life raft.

Yes I am upset by responding back to you.

Maybe I should have put up an angry smiley to show how angry I was when I hit the submit reply button.

lol I just made a prediction. It's not like I'm going around placing money on them winning at title.

All I said is the Lakers will win a title with him as the coach. No different from anyone making a predictions before the NBA season.
