Yea, he said that himself many times. I think both sides are at fault, b/c both guys were just hard-headed at the time. Eh, that Lakers' team could have won 2-3 more rings had both guys stayed together. Disappointing that a dynasty was broken b/c the 2 best players didn't like one another.
I thought it was an attention thing. There are a huge amount of non Laker fans that like Shaq. If you aren't a Laker fan you hate Kobe and he can't stand it. Kobe was jealous of the love Shaq got all over the country and Kobe was the villian and his panties got in a bunch over it.
I would take all this drama on Rockets if somehow T-Mac was able to muster up a SHRED of the confidence and swagger Kobe has.

With respect to the Mike Brown issue, I think one could give Kobe the benefit of the doubt in not listening to Brown because WTF has Mike Brown done as a head coach? Yeah he took the Cavs(really I should say LeBron since LeBron might as well have been a player-coach) to the finals. To compare that with LeBron under Mike Brown, LeBron had NO skins on the wall. He had(and we all know still has) zero rings so really he should have been open to coaching from Brown(if Brown and the Cavs weren't lily-livered felines) but he wasn't. Kobe has more reason to tune out Brown than LeBron did back then.
How can any NBA player respect Shaq after this all-tell book? Really now. I've lost all my respect for him as a person. There is something called "confidentiality" between colleagues and what goes on in the workplace. You don't rat out everything that went on, good or bad, during your career and just blast every single player/coach along the way. But it is a must-read.
What are you talking about? Ex-players and coaches write books all the time about all of the good and bad things that went out in the front office or on the court and field. He's not the first athlete or sports-related person to write a tell-all book won't be the last. Even recently, Jerry West came out with a book, and he basically did not get along at all with Phil Jackson. Should he lie about that or sort of gloss over it, especially when they work together for a little time in history. Confidentiality is expected, but really people get the dirty details about any job because people gossip or simply talk. If co-workers are fighting, if there's a particular affair going on, sometimes you can just hide that under cover like it did not happen. Moreover, take a look at Ball Four and Juiced, I'm so glad those books came out, because it did somewhat exposed that these athletes were not any kind of gods that they were made out to be or these saintly role models that they are expected to present themselves as to the public. I'm glad those two pieces of literature happen for what they did to holier than thou Major League Baseball.

So Shaq is dumping loads on others besides Kobe? Count me in the group that says the lockerroom should be sacred for at least a few years. It's too early for this to come out IMO. But it's great both Mike Brown and Kobe play for the Lakers. :grin: I must admit this perks up my interest a bit and I look forward to hearing more about the book when it's released in 2 weeks.
Ok so if a coach "hasn't done anything" that means the star player doesn't have to listen to him .? Mike Brown is a good defensive coach and their defense was a big reason they made the Finals.
Mike Brown will probably shock some folks. He definitely has a better chance at a title in LA than he did in Cleveland.
Exactly but when he was hired a lot of people acted like that was the nail in the coffin of the Lakers. He will win a title in LA.
I have no idea where you get this confidence from. Short of Dwight actually going to LA, that team isn't going to be getting really better, and Mike Brown is nowhere near the level of Phil, and everyone knows that. He COULD win a title in LA. I doubt it, and I highly doubt Mike Brown is somehow going to revitalize the current Lakers squad so that they're winning a ring.
