Where the heck did I post that?

I'm not frustrated by you not changing your mind. It's nearly impossible to get anyone to change their mind in a debate.

There have been plenty of Schaub detractors in here with some very good arguments. I don't agree with them, but at the end of the day, we're arguing a subjective point. But notice how all of the Schaub detractors besides you are silent now. It's not because we've proven our point. It's because you're embarrassing them with your r****ded arguments that have nothing to back them up.

    That's why I'm frustrated.

Also, you made me burn my hash browns while I was trying to find a link to show you the rules of a debate.

    1. Slow as **** (I agree)
    2. Bad coordination (what does this mean?)
    3. Prone to throwing balls at his receivers feet (because we get to watch whole Texans games and not just highlights, its easy to think Schaub is more prone to do this than anyone else)
    4. Prone to turnovers because of low pocket presence (name me a "better" QB that has thrown less INTs this year, hint: arguably Matt Stafford and the other plays for Green Bay)
    5. Rag arm (he doesn't throw bullets but his average yards per attempt says otherwise)
    6. Doesn't audible :)rolleyes:)
    7. Lacks leadership qualities (can you be more specific?)

The whole audible argument is silly anyway. Where is it written that the more a QB audibles, the better he is?

What if a play-action pass is called when the D is stacked up against the run? Are you supposed to audible out of it and call a run up the middle? Because good QB's audible on every play!

    Fixed.

i'm going to go into a different direction... a really elite Qb doesn't even need audible because he can make a play regardless

I want a better QB too--one that's in the elite tier instead of below it. Luckily we already have the best RB, or I'd want one of those. Luckily, we already have the best WR, or I'd want one of those. Luckily, we already have an elite CB, or I'd want one of those. Luckily, we already have an elite rusher (albeit injured) or I'd want of those. I want an elite #2 WR. I want a consistently elite TE.

I want a lot of things. The fact is, everything is in scarce supply. Teams can win without super elite at every position--*including QB*. This team has been built--to sacrifice whatever you'd have to sacrifice (money to sign an elite FA would come an teh expense of other positions, drafting a sure-thing QB up high would sacrifice the future greatly if even possible or sacrifice the present by tanking a season or 3) to get the QB you want doesn't make sense.

In the meantime, why continue to say you want a better QB when that isn't a realistic thing to expect at all and when it's not necessary? Yes, Schaub is flawed--only about 5-8 QB's are definitively less flawed. I'm sure the other 20-25 teams want one of those QB's too. Fact is, giving each team one of those 5 QB's isn't possible.

I suspect they use 8 points because that is within a TD and 2 point conversion of a tie game, in other words, close.

The major sports always show how players perform in close games. You have never seen that before? Free throw percentage in 'close and late' games? Batting average from the 7th inning on in a close baseball game?

You are not 'popular' with your criticism because you change your argument (average QB, above average QB, somewhere between average and above average). You use wins as a measuring stick, yet you don't give Schaub props this season for leading the Texans to the 5th most wins thus far. You demand proof that Schaub audibles, yet you can't provide proof that he doesn't.

    i want a better QB...like joe montana
    I want a better RB...like Earl campbell.
    I want a better MLB...like Mike singletary.
    I want a better CB...like Deion Sanders.
    I want a better safety...like Ed Reed.
I want a better OLB, like Lawrence Taylor.

because no one the texans have is as good as them, it means that the current plays can't get it done and they should be cut and the front office should move on and get these type of players.

    I'm right. You're wrong. here's the link.

Sounds a lot like Colt McCoy.

Also applies to Vince Young, except for #1. Vince sure can run good.

Just have to realize that for some people anything less than 16-0, 80% completeion, 50td/0int/0 FL and of course.... audibles, lots and lots of audibles, just isn't gonna be good enough.

And he's gotta be cerebral, not just cagey.

How can you tell if a QB is cerebral?

Well, if he waves his arms like this, it is irrefutable proof:

    Stop feeding the troll.

Not sure anyone here is saying he is elite, but Matt is more than adequate. Is he a Tom Brady, Brees or Rodgers? Nope, is he arguably as good as any of the other QBs in the league, of course.

Guess what, they are not available, I dont think Rick Smith can swing a trade at this point for either of them.

Dakota wont suggest a way of upgrading, because there isn't. He is making a pointless argument. He is trolling.

If you think Matt is one of the main problems on this football team, either we have a pretty damn good football team, or you don't know **** about it.

    No one is.

Most of us just hold the extremely controversial position that he's better than Trent Dilfer.
