Posted Friday night. I guess Hunter is the one on the committee holding things up. I don't understand why the guy would fight so hard for his job. He's almost 70 years-old and has had the position 15 years. Retiring after the new CBA should have been his plan from the beginning.

FWIW: the owners do NOT want to see the union splinter and blow up. desperate to deal? yes. but not destroyed. dead union means dead season

Looks like the federal mediator will not be rejoining NBA labor talks. Nor are any (non-mediated) talks scheduled. Will have more later.

Source says federal mediator George Cohen spoke w/ both NBA and @TheNBPA officials about another joint session but it will not be happening.

Why is something wrong if the players union has differences of opinion? They're gambling with billions. They should have different opinions.

The owners aren't out to get a good deal. They want a "smear-the-queer" deal. To battle that, the players will have to eat huge losses.

It's too late for that. You can bicker all you want together..but you have to present a united front. If you're divided on major issues...like the key issue remaining between the union and the owners...that's a problem.

Is it fine for them to have different opinions? Of course it is....what a childish way for Lazenby to frame the discussion though. It's not about whether they're allowed to have different opinions...it's about how that affects the negotiations going forward when you're already past opening night.

Glad to see Fisher's character getting called into question, he used his daughters condition as a way to get out of Utah, and then is just a low character d******d on the court.

Not surprised he is a poser off of it as well.

It is the truth. Saying it doesn't matter, it happened exactly that way.

He gave up his contract in Utah - allegedly because of his daugthers eye condition and signed in LA.

When Utah was actually closer to the hospital his daughter needed.

Fisher is a poser, a closet character guy who is actually just a scumbag.

Well, I agree that he's a *******. Always has been, in my opinion. Why he has this position with the union is a mystery to me. Perhaps no one else wanted it.

He's gonna be the next Michael Curry. He'll work out a side negotiation with Stern in turn for a Vice President job after retirement.
