Wow!!! A forum full of ******* cops. I think any cop that uses their power to break the law should get double time for the crime. How did the cop that was speeding not get charged for resisting arrest?

So you hate her because she didn't follow 'professional courtesy' as you put it and let him go. The other stuff about not following orders or not is unsubstantiated so I'm not going to even talk about.

Whereas you grudgingly admit the other guy might have done something wrong too... like put civilian lives in danger.

Nope. I just hate her because I dislike state troopers. That's all. ;)
I have only received 3 tickets in 14 or so years of driving and 2 out of 3 were by state troopers and I dispute both. I guess I just needed to get my anger out ... that and the fact that what she did was wrong too. Her pursuing the guy was just as dangerous as him speeding...anyways though...I don't want to argue anymore. Everyone has their own opinions about what happened and this incident just happened to involve a crazy state trooper.

    lopez wrong
    chick is right

    end of story

the guy is off duty, going to moonlight at some event for a 'high-end' school function, no reason he should be going 120, no reason

There is a reason why you have a supervisor and people in charge.
Going into anything recklessly and sloppily will just ensure you are going to be frantic and unnerved, make the situation worse, or panic and do something stupid...
That being said, the guy should be punished for going 120... repeatedly.
    Punish them both!

I have a soft spot in my heart for cops because my dad was a cop for 10 years and after hearing his stories and experiences I have a ton of respect for him and cops in general.

Granted, there are some bad/dirty cops around but that doesn't voice the majority. The cop was obviously wrong for speeding unnecessarily on the highway but the trooper didn't have too be a douche either. If the reports are true in that she was ordered to call of the chase then she was out of line by ignoring her superiors. Put them both on probation and see how they respond.

Funny little sidenote, I called up my dad about this and he said that the trooper probably thought the cop car was stolen or the cop was driving drunk. Yeah wtf driving drunk. But that's what he said some cops think they're above the law and so they drive drunk. Lol.

i dont think cops should get away with breaking laws since they are citizens on patrol but that trooper sure did whip out her gun a little too eagerly. Women.

I understand her reasoning. If it is confirmed that the cop car is stolen there is a possibility that he might have been armed.
But regardless, its not in her right to follow through with arresting him if she's told not to.

Bull****. If he is doing something illegal, she can arrest him regardless.

    I only have two comments

    1. If she does this to a fellow cop I hate to be the average Joe who speeds and gets pulled over by her, they might get beat down.
    2. She has to be Dexter’s next victim.

If she is told to end pursuit, she needs to end it.
