I said 12-4 Talent and 8-8 coaching so I had them at 10-6 Wade is like The Kubiak equalizer What was before I knew the Colts would SUCK FOR LUCK and that the Jags would throw away their best QB I think my 12-4 happens! Rocket River
WADE AND KUBIAK! Individually . . .they kind of just don't have what it takes to be super . . . together . . .ACTIVATE!!! Rocket River
Well .. .expect next year's schedule to be much tougher I think they always get tougher when you have a better season so . . . that may explain it Rocket River
Perhaps. If so, it would mean his defense isn't as good as his first seasons suggest. Or that it falters against top offenses or when teams have more tapes of him? Either way, I want to reserve judgement on Phillips for the long run. For now, he's definitely earned his paycheck.
I've heard this, but what stat do they use to prove that? Using yards/game, his sophomore years as DC have been improvements with the Bills, Chargers, and Cowboys. It was only his stint with the Falcons which saw a big drop in overall ranking. As HC for the bills and cowboys, there was little change in their defensive rankings (except the cowboys in 2010) as seasons passed. Using the phrase "somehow regress" could mean anything though, from something like drops in run d/ pass d, to points scored or passing touchdowns given up.
SuperTwins reference!!! LOL I tried to rep... I can't believe folks are predicting 7-1 the rest of the way for the Texans. Holy crap, that would blow my mind. The Texans going 7-1??? That'd be like Pardee's Oilers making SB.
Sucky Boy! When I read this I laughed out loud. I found your original comment obnoxious and off color, but for some reason your retort was funny. Clutchfans isn't always a "nice" place but it is entertaining.
If we can stop turning the ball over inside the opponents redzone, we have a good chance of going 8-0
8-0??????? so much optimism. does. not. compute!!! I would enjoy the CRAP out of that! However, the beaten-down, oft-disappointed-and-disillusioned Houston fan in me expects somewhere closer to 4-4 or 5-3 down the stretch. Not based on the teams they're playing, mind you, but based on who they are.
I can't find 4 losses on their remaining schedule. And I've looked really hard. Until they do it, they've never done it, so skepticism is understood. And there are no guarantees in the NFL. But I can't see them going anything less than 5-3.
I see 3 potential losses . .. at best and those would be somewhat QUALITY Losses ones I would say. . . well . .that was a competitive team and they were Battle Fighting but Losses to the other teams. . . those will truly be GROAN WORTHY Rocket River
Which three? I see ATL and CIN as possible threats. Maybe Carolina has a chance to steal a W. But I wouldn't label them as potential losses. There are no potential losses remaining in the schedule. We are better than each team in almost every category. Now there is the possibility of a loss. The Texans are known for unexplainable mishaps that cost us games. Or a loss to Tennessee as we rest our starters, But without those deciding factors, we are in pretty good shape 7 of the remaining teams we play have negative point differentials. We are offensively and defensive better than each team. We still have our Bye Week, Four of the teams have losing records, Four home games, AJ coming back, I believe any loss would be Groan Worthy
According to Dictionary.com: potential: adjective 1. possible, as opposed to actual. 2. capable of being or becoming. probable: adjective 1. likely to occur or prove true. Does this help? You're welcome. -- from the desk of Helpy Helperson, Certified Public Smartass.
A fun stat that is often forgotten is the 65.9 quaterback rating that this defense is allowing, compared to the 100.1 from last season. Otto graham could have been under center and we would have sucked just as much, which is why I find media 'experts' who want to bring out matt's wins and losses to be complete jokers. now that our qb is winning and headed to another 4,000 and 25+tds campaign w/o his star receiver...he is a "game manager". The opposing qb rating stat is jaw dropping. To those that say durrr our schedule is soft, that's true for every team that does not play in the AFC west and AFC east divisions. Wade phillips rock star! Sex, drugs and turnovers!
Who would've thought Wade Phillips and Rock Star would ever go together?! Buffoon to Rockstar in less than a year.
Buffoon HC. Above average DC. That has always been the book on Wade. Let's hope McNair never burns that book, and Wade's bras.
As of week 9 the Texans are currently ranked number 1 in Total Defense. You can say the opponents we've faced have been week but whatever, the defense is taking care of business. Simply amazing http://www.nfl.com/stats/categoryst...OTAL_YARDS_GAME_AVG&d-447263-o=1&d-447263-n=1
