I didn't even notice a barn, but there's no way in hell Otis survived. I like your prediction about the girl. Shane had me wondering the whole time why the creepy head shave moment. and of course my first inclination was that he was attacked on the scalp by the Walkers, I didn't see the truth coming at all! excellent use of flashbacks in this season. I look forward to more backstory in any way possible. oooooh that hanging walker was creepy!
I saw this happening when the two decided to go get the medical equipment. When they asked each other how many bullets they have left (1st time), I imagined that Shane would shoot him to escape. i'm more ****ed up from the head:grin:
thats what i thought. the opening was straight out of b.b. and shaving the head as a metaphor for transformation - just like walter white. as for electricity, i assumed they had some kind of generator. if there is a gas station nearby for them to get gas from they could keep one going for awhile.
It seemed Otis and Shane wasted time by turning around, lining up a shot and firing instead of just going without looking back. What I don't get is the timespan. Shane and Otis left while the sun was out, Otis said it was 5 miles away, and they drove there. By the time they use the flares, it looks like it's full on nighttime. They were fleeing zombies for 5-6 hours, around a high school?
I enjoyed the whole episode being set at nighttime. it added to the suspense. I think timeline-wise, there's no way to tell how long they were at the high school fleeing the herd, but if they spent 5-6 hours from 9 pm to say 3 in the morning, that would work...
Forget the handguns and rifles it's obious to me that hand grenades are the most valuable weapon for a heard of zombies. Shane and Rick being cops you would think they would've figured it out and raided an army base or something.
I feel like they've resolved to go to an Army Base twice now in the series and gotten derailed. It's not like a base full of weapons is just sitting outside of the local Walgreens waiting to be raided!
i thought abou that. They don't even have to be grenades. Molotov cocktails would be a nice distraction and easy to make, especially for a trained officer or whatever shane is.
Good point. Heck, couldn't they just improvise with some homemade bombs? They don't need to be really fancy. Just enough to make a big noise and maybe light a zombie or two on fire. That would be something that would buy them time to escape hordes, etc.
Actually, it's not obvious. You have to get the brain to kill the zombie. Chances are that the grenade will blow their lower torsos off but won't damage the brain. Easier to outrun when theyre crawling but not the desired result.
Well if the object is to escape a herd then a grenade will certainly do the job. Who cares if they don' t die (again) You want to disperse the group of zombies to make it easier to handle. And even if you can't find an army base, there were dead soldiers strung about and seeing as to how it was a combat situation (grenades would have been issued 2 frags per) they could have found some on the bodies.
ONLY read if you've read the comics. Theory time... Big spoiler: Spoiler I was convinced that Merle (Darryl's brother) was going to end up as the Governor. Him losing a hand seemed like good motivation to later cut Rick's hand off.... But now I think they're setting Shane up to go dark and go off on his own and become the Governor. He's already talked about leaving, and last night's episode showed his 'transformation' into a bad guy by the symbolic hair shaving. Now, I still think Merle is going to end up with the Governor's camp, and possibly cut off Rick's hand, but I think that Shane will end up as the antagonist for the whole Governor/prison story-line.
Then that's a boring story lol. In all the zombie movies i've seen there have only been 1 granade (resident evil 2:apocalypse) and they used that in a small herd.... I'd rather them find a bunch of guns and just go barracade themselves like nazi zombies than have them blow zombies up.
About T-Dog being hurt. Spoiler Oops, brain fart, I meant will T-Dog die not Otis. Yeah, Otis is toast, that was obvious, but what about T-Dog? This show has very interesting ways of keeping minor characters on the back burner, but it gets old fast.
Spoiler I think later in the season, Glenn is going to give her his wonton soup while riding his oriental express.....
