Is ATT deploying LTE on the 850? 700-850 won't make that much of a difference for building penetration. It will be all about tweaking the network. ATT ~might~ have an advantage since their crappy GSM network required them to have towers spaced closer together. In large metros, that really won't make a difference though since antennas are placed based on network load vs coverage.

I agree. GSM is crap. It probably works well in Europe, but not here in the states. Since most phone manufactures targeted Europe and Asia, ATT got the latest and greatest phones. Hey! I have the best phone and I now have LTE on ATT, but i STILL drop calls.

ah, 700 mhz. Yup, AT&T has spectrum all over the place , they use 1900mhz for voice in certain markets lol. Yes, it's not much of a difference, but at times it can be noticeable in terms of dBm.

Yeah, I've always felt that way towards GSM. In the states it really does suck. GSM doesn't perform hand-off well. Like you said earlier, that means dropped calls lol

That HTC Holiday on AT&T LTE might be nice :)

I think it's kind of messed up that they released the HSPA+ S2 variant if they were going to release this about a month later

On March 17th when the Tbolt came out (First Verizon 4GLTE device) came out, if you search for the thread (Verizon Wireless 4G LTE), I have screenshots posted of some of the insane speeds I was getting on the fresh network.

At one point I started seeing 47 mbps down and 36 up. Now it's alot more stabilized at around 10-18 mbps real world usage here in Houston. Also Verizon has 150+ LTE markets compared to AT&T's 5

About a month later, they will probably release the 5.3" Samsung Galaxy Note for the holidays. It might have LTE also. A month ather the Samsung Galaxy Note is released, it will be the Samsung Galaxy Nexus or other Samssung Ice Cream Sandwich phone with LTE. Quad core tablets are out for the market in December, so quad core LTE android phones should be coming along shortly.

Buyers just have to jump in, there will always be something new with in a month or two. Unless people settle for an iphone, when the hardware only changes once every year.

Yup, that's very true and I know this is normal but it's just kind of ridiculous when it's a similar variant. I think this SGS2 doesn't have the Exynos processor.
I'll be getting a Verizon LTE Nexus but I'm definitely looking forward to what's to come. Good thing I don't do two year contracts

This Skyrocket is a pretty cool phone. Really nice screen. Just a bigger SG2 with LTE and a different processor (which has shown to be slower and faster in benchmarks than the regular SG2 depending on who you ask).

Haven't really tested the LTE speeds here in Chicago, I'll get a chance later on to do that.

I know how to cheat on Quadrant so I personally hate benchmarks lol. So I'm assuming you got the SkyRocket?

    Hope you enjoy it!

Yup, it's awesome. Though.. 4.5" may be too much for me. I'm still re-thinking this.. Idk if I want a phone this big. I think I would take a phone this size if it had an HD res.

A friend of mine got the Skyrocket and it cranked out 25+ Mbps download and 8+ Mbps upload on multiple occasions. AT&T's LTE is legit.
