I absolutely love what Wade has done for this defense. To me, the biggest change from the previous entire existence of this franchise is finally having the ability to stop the offense on 3rd and anything. My only remaining fear related to Wade Phillips is what happens if/when Kubiak is fired. They cannot be duped into promoting Wade.
I was not on board because I figured it would be a BAND-AID on the real issue and I am still not convinced it is not. The Defense is outstanding but I cannot say Kubiak is better. Is this lipstick on the Kubiak Pig? Is last year about having a defense that could not cover Kube's . .uhm deficiencies Rocket River
Wasn't on board with his hiring, thought it was another "good ole boy" pick. Apparently, I was wrong. The proof is in the pudding and the pudding tastes pretty good. Compared to last year, night and day. Give the man some credit. With the way the defense is playing, we are in every game. Before, it didn't matter how many points the offense put up, as long as the clock was running we were vulnerable. They couldn't stop anyone.
It's going to be pretty hard for that to happen anytime soon. An extension is much, much more likely.
Wasn't too happy with Wade's hiring. I as not looking forward to the 3-4 as I didn't think the team had any OLBs to team without having any CBs. I was surprised by Mario and Barwin production and getting Joseph and Manning has helped a lot.
No and yes... I knew Wade was a great DC, but as a HC, he's supsect...The Cowboys just have no heart...a few talented guys and have got to get rid of Romo...he is not going to get us anywhere...but I digress...
The next time I see Wade at James Coney, I'm buying him a chili dog. So far exceeded my expectations it's ridiculous.
Somehow, I think you are stuck in the wrong metaphor, but you will be just fine when you turn thirteen, well, maybe twenty.
I'm probably older than you sucky boy. Aggie education made me childish I guess, don't know what Wade's excuse is.
Why? Wade did fairly well with the Cowboys teams he had. Better then Garrett is doing. Phillips may not be my first choice if we got a new coach, but I wouldn't be disappointed if he was hired.
I've been amazed by the change. I thought the Texans would be better, but this much, this soon is amazing. A lot of credit has to go to Jonathon Joseph, as he's been the first really good cover corner that the Texans have ever had, and that makes the rest of the team look that much better. But Wade gets a ton of the credit, too. And he deserves every minute of it.
Two of our wins will be against the NFL's worst team. I pegged the Texans to go 9-7, but that was before I knew Manning was done. I think 10-6 is likely, maybe 11-5, but it's the playoffs where we will see what they are capable of.
One thing worth noting is that Phillips' defense somehow regress in his 2nd years. Not sure the reasons for such things, but kind of a weird trend. That said, I wouldn't care if the Texans make noise this playoffs.
