Hey guys hows it going? I wanted to see if anyone happened to have this book and was no longer in need of it. My GF is a Mathematics Major and Calc II is supposed to be the toughest of the 4 calc classes she has to take. We work with a kid who is very smart but incredibly zany who said he would tutor her but we want that to be a last resort. You know the type... recites movie lines from films you've NEVER seen, nor have the desire to waste 2 hours of your life on. Anyway, you can mail a book via media mail for about $3.00 and i'd be more then happy to send someone $6-7 paypal before I go to eBay and spend $15. Thanks in advance! -James
nothing really hard about cal 2. where is she taking it? the hardest part of cal 2 was series/sequences, which you don't even use in cal 3.
I'm in my final class to complete my math minor and I would have to say Cal 2 was the hardest math class I took out of all of them. Like you said, the end of the course involving series and all that was pretty brutal
That doesn't make any sense for those of you that are saying she should switch majors if she needs this book. Its like walking into a tutoring room and telling everyone in there they need to switch majors because they need help. I've taken more than a handful of courses where the textbook is horrible, and on top of that the teacher teaches off the the textbook not even providing additional examples or the teacher is someone foreign that is hard to understand. In these cases you need to supplement the class with outside additional help. I've never even seen this book but just because its part of the "...for Dummies" series doesn't mean its a worthless book that is catered to actual idiots.
I know some engineering students who use http://www.wolframalpha.com/examples/Math.html Shows you the steps in how to get the answer, calculus is all about practice, more problems you do the better you get at it.
