I expect big things from Tyreke Evans his third year in Sacremento!

Rookie of the year, 1 of 4 players to average 20-5-5 rookie year.

He shouldn't be the PG, more of a SG/SF, amazing handles, and hopefully he improves his jumpshot!

His 3rd year may not even start this season. I agree he should be in a similiar role to DWade.

I'm definitely not on the Reke bandwagon. Comparing him to Wade is crazy.

Maybe one of these days he'll learn to finish with his left hand.

I think the steve Francis comparisment is suitable. He had great numbers on a terrible team during his rookie year. I do not see him as a star player for a contender. And I'm not sure he can be a good role player for a contender.

Agreed. Extremely overrated and immature. An inefficient scorer who isn't a leader and makes his teammates worse instead of better.

Tyreke Evans is a ball-hog who can't even shoot 3s.

He does have terrific size for PG/SG though, and he certainly has the handles to play both positions. Too bad he doesn't pass.

He had a letdown his sophomore year and has to learn to play off the ball more.

    He's a beast on 2k though for my 2kers ;)

    Is he really 6'6?

    He doesn't seem that tall.

I visited the Kings board for a bit during the Kevin Martin trade. Got interested in Evans since he was the reason why Martin was traded. From the bits and pieces I read there, Francis popped up immediately as an eerily similar comparison to Evans.

Of course, Evans has about 3 inches on Steve and has a SG body. So that's certainly a plus. Otherwise, similar strengths and weaknesses. Will need to seriously work on his game and his mentality if he were to be a superstar. But has all the tools necessary.

I watch some Kings games and is amazed at how much of a ball hog Tyreke is, he literally forces the most ridiculous shots.

His teamates must hate playing with him.

With that said, he probably has one of the best footworks for layups in the league. That huge euro step is pretty sweet.

He's one of those guys who I have trouble imagining on a good team. He has a #1 scorer's mentality, but without the skills to take a team to the playoffs as the #1 option.

If his jumper develops, he could still become a devastating scorer.

If Im the coach of the Kings, the ball needs to go through Cousins on pretty much every play in the post. Thats your best formula for success. If the ball continues to go through Tyreke on every play then they are setting themselves up for failure again.

He's got a ton of talent, but he's got to reel it in this year and play within a system. Even the great ones still run plays and execute correctly to win.

For the Kings to win, they need to realize that their best chance to win games will be working the ball in the post to Cousins on most plays and him being able to pass out of the post to cutters and shooters.

Tyreke Evans needs to fit into the concept of team before he can achieve great things.

I think he had plantar fasciitis last year, and that's no fun. Hopefully he'll bounce back from that (although, not against the Rockets).

The guy does have the uncanny ability to turn an NBA game into his own personal layup line. But you guys are right his game isn't very team-oriented and his teammates will always suffer becasue of it.

He's basically Monta Ellis. Someone who can score a lot, but will never find success until he learns to share the ball and play within a team. Although, part of me wonders if Tyreke plays as a ballhog because the Kings are so bad.

    Only time will tell.

Not really. I've seen him come in games and destroy the Kings offense when it rolled with him on the bench. Time has already spoken.

Unfortunately, unless Westphal grows a pair and tells him to share, Tyreke and the Kings cannot succeed.

On the bright side, maybe that makes Cousins disgruntled, and they trade him to Houston!
