Agreed. We won the two biggest games of the season so far. Regardless how good Tennessee or Jacksonville is relative to the rest of the league, they're the 2nd and 3rd best teams in this division and really are the most important stepping stones in order to make the playoffs. We're always terrible in the division year after year... this year we're 3-0. I'm stoked.
I went back and read the thread. all i have to say is Whoa there MFs! schaub throws the touchdown to dreesen and it's dreesen saving noodle arm. Lol, had brees delivered that same pass it would have been something like," OMFG, did you see that. That's a player. I'm about to j*zz hand me a kleenex box." =/ can't wait til the cleveland game.
I was at the game tonight. I can say Cushing was all the place and his interception was huge. The TD throw from Schaub to Dressen was well placed but very risky. The running game was really slow to start, but good at the end. Tate's "fumble" should of been reversed, actually both challenges should of been.
Watching it on the big screen, from what we could tell, it looked like Walter got BOTH feet in before he was shoved/ran out of bounds. That one was very very close. Tates Fumble, after watching the reply had a knee completely down and was basically sideways as if he was stretching it out before the pop popped up. This is what I saw, many agreed. I still think they should of been overturned, but I'm ok with the outcome.
Bad challenges, both of them. Great game and great win, 2turnovrs are the only reason the jags scored. Once aj gets back we will be scary. Cushing and Joseph are leading this d. Injuries are the only thing that can stop us. This team is special. F the haters, see y'all in the playoffs.
Okay. Finally caught up on the thread. Cush looked good. Was amazing to see Kareem jackson make a play. Never heard from him for the rest of the game which is always good. Game wasn't entertaining, but I'll take a W every time. What's up with Schaub over throwing everyone today. He usually skips it in.
Not even close on Schaub. He didn't play great today but he was god-awful against Oakland. Either way I'm just glad we got the win.
And I will continue to tell it like it is! This is a team that doesn't know how to win consistently. They know how to lose consistently because that is what they have done in the past. The body language on the offense was not good throughout most of the game. They didn't look comfortable or confident. The most determined looking player was Tate. Shaub looked shaky throughout. The offensive line couldn't get it going. The play calling was shaky. A draw on third and 23?! Next series, three incomplete passes! Two turnovers for TD's! The defense played very well, Cushing was a beast. Not as much pressure on their QB as I would have liked, but O.K. Anyway, let it be clear, I am a fan, but I am not on the Texan's bandwagon, won't be any time soon. They are still PROVING themselves. AJ's return will make a difference. Casey becoming 100% will help, but there is nothing like a string of impressive wins and that is what I want. No slow starts or slow finishes. No stupid give the game away mistakes. I want to see a killer attitude, I want to see confidence, I want to see competence. Until I do, I am on their case. You can say what you want, I could care less. You won't discourage me from speaking my mind.
schaub overthrew almost every time down the field and he is usually money on the play action/bootleg. Was it the sun? I've never seen him overthrow it like that.
so the only player you praised today is Ben Tate, who did the one thing you wanted to see this team not do which is fumble the ball late in the game.
I could make a flow chart for Matt Schaub. Is the pass to Kevin Walter? ---> Overthrow Is the pass to Owen Daniels? ---> Underthrow Is the pass to Jacoby Jones? ---> Who cares, dropped ball
Was it an underwhelming victory? Maybe, but it was a key division win. Those are our first priority. I'm more than willing to give the offense a pass since (1) they were without AJ and (2) the Jags D is better than we're giving them credit for. They came in ranked extremely high and lived up to it...and we still netted 3 TDs on them. So excited about our D. Just devastated their crew, including MoJo. Let's move forward and take care of business against the Brownies.
Uh, you missed Cushing and the entire defense. Look, I am not trying to be negative, today the offense was out of sync. Yes, the Jacksonville defense is superior to the Titans. But on the offense the Texans lacked intensity. This team isn't good enough to EVER lack intensity. The NFL stands for "not for long." You can't get too high about a win or too low about a loss, BUT you have to play every game like there is no tomorrow. The Texans still seem happy with a win every now and then. They need to develop an attitude that every game is a must win and give it everything they have got. I don't see that yet. If they even win one in November it will be like a record or something, that is how bad they have been and that kind of incompetence has to end NOW! Watch Inside the Game tonight on Channel 13, I bet you hear the same thing.
