MSU still has to play Nebraska and Wisconsin has PSU (last game), so it is still possible for one of those teams to lose another game. Even if they do not lose another game, that Championship game will likely knock one of them lower than A&M simply because of how late they will be in the season. Same with Stanford and Oregon, since their game is so late in the season a 2 loss Oregon squad would fall pretty far that late in the year. And if Stanford was to lose before then, they would likely fall even farther. I still think OSU will lose a game this year. With the offenses they face and the fact that their defense requires turnovers to be effective, I just think it would be hard for them not to have a dud game. With OSU, KSU, and OU all yet to play each other, that is two losses that will clear that situation up and most move them down. The big issue is OU because even if A&M beats OU, I could see an OU win over OSU in Stillwater during "Championship week" allowing them to leapfrog the Aggies and get the 2nd Big 12 BCS Bowl Bid. I really hope that all works out because, honestly, it would stink for the Aggies to be 3rd in the Big 12 face a future conference foe in the Cotton Bowl... again. Sidenote: Who else here would be super pumped to see a Boise St. vs LSU/Bama loser Sugar Bowl?
Shoot, not me. Until they play people I just wont care. I realize nobody wants to schedule them, I realize its hard to predict who will be good 2-5 years down the road when designing schedules, but the fact remains, they don't play anybody. A 2-loss SEC team deserves a BCS game over Boise State. Same with a 2-loss Big 12 team. Big 10. Pac 12.
You have two plays to get two yards for the first down and two great running backs... why do you pitch the ball backwards?
If A&M win out that means they lost all the same games they lost last year. So there is still a possibility we could head to a bowl game at the end of the year. Lets hope the Texans win tomorrow.
1. You cannot have a bend & break defense that does not create turnovers. 2. They did nothing but run the ball in the 4th quarter, and they didn't force them to pass. Then on the 3 plays you know they HAVE to pass the entire 4th quarter/OT, they do not blitz and cannot play coverage? 3. I understand the Aggies D-line is subpar, so they have to blitz to get pressure. But in a 3-4, not blitzing does not mean only 3 men pressure the QB. 4. You cannot run a vanilla offense the entire second half until you crush the other teams spirit. A 28-17 halftime lead has not crushed anyone's spirit. 5. You cannot run an offense in which the other knows exactly whether you will run or pass the ball from your formation, you have no deep threat whatsoever. Both of which are magnified when you offensive line consistently commits false start penalties at home. 6. When you have field position the entire second half, you have to be agressive and use 4 downs to get a first at least one time. 7. Jeff Fuller should be on the bench until he is healthy. He cannot create any separation or hold onto the ball right now. @Ziggy: The reason I would be excited for that game is because the only teams I could see even challenging a 1-loss LSU/Bama are Stanford and Wisconsin. However, both of those teams are locked into the Rose Bowl or the MNC game. If that SEC team is going to play someone they should beat, I would rather have them play Boise so that we can finally see if they are a fraud or not.
Whoops, A&M choked. Just horrible. Total choke, collapse, whatever you want to call it. . . . Tannehill's stupid fumble on the last drive, then getting his pass batted down in OT. Lead 28-17 and lose 38-31. Unbelievable. Actually very believable. @Oklahoma next week? Lord help us.
Yeah, I think my unbeaten streak when attending Aggie road games in any sport will be broken next week.
I think its time for Sherman to go.... I want the school to go after a young hungry rising defensive mastermind.... I wanted Muschamp when Fran got fired, but we got a guy with no college football experience now I want Kirby Smart because this guy has been phenomenal turning Alabama into a defensive power house.....better grab him before another big program does
Can't take credit for this but, best joke I've heard in awhile. When I die, I want 12 Aggie football players to be my pallbearers so they can let me down one last time. ^^^As for Sherman, I don't see him going anywhere, not this year or next. I questioned the decision to extend him when they did.
I prefer a defensive-minded coach. But what I really want is a coach who will inspire his team to be salty and a little brash. Type of coach who is not afraid to go for the win and doesn't play not to lose. I like Kirby Smart, but not entirely sure he is ready for his first head coaching job to be a team full of underclassmen in their first ever SEC season. Plus he is a Georgia alum. Still not convinced Mark Richt has lost his job yet but If the position is open, Smart goes there instead of A&M.
Not worried about OU, TAMU could win. They're good on paper. Just poorly coached. Don't get me wrong, OU probably wins. But the team is capable of almost anything. The time to go after a new coach is now -- the talent is there, the momentum is there.
The time to go after a new coach is now <<< I would agree with that. Talent is there now, not so much next year.
i feel like a&m has never been the same after the tragedy. maybe unrelated but i just can't help feel that way.
