So what's the consensus on this board? Are most people rooting for the Cardinals or the Rangers?

if they had played and the game was 5 hours long due to rain stoppage, or worse yet, the game had to be continued the next day...people would be complaining.

    Everyone will complain about something.

The right call was made. It's the WS and MLB doesnt needt to lose more ratings due to long game with delays.

This is like last year's NBA finals. I hated both teams. As an Astros fan you have to hate the Cards. But then again, **** Dallas.

I guess I'd rather see my boy Berkman get his ring. That, and Dallas doesn't need another championship parade.

I respect the Rangers because they're the best-run organization in baseball, so I'd like to see them win a ring. Plus, **** Albert Pujols. :)

Gm 7 is in StL because CJ WIlson gave up A-S HR to Fielder. #Rangers badly need former closer Wilson to thrive out of pen at Busch tonite

they don't care enough about baseball for a loss to be considered suffering. That loss will roll off the freshly waxed backs like water on a duck

For regular season games, yes. Its all on them. For Post-season/World Series games, its all MLB.

They forced the Astros to open their roof, while keeping the roof closed in Arizona and Toronto, and they postponed wednesday's game.

That is more of a reality than what you have proposed.

Eh... would have been in St. Louis under the old rules as well.

At least this way its punishment for the Rangers pitcher sucking it up in the ASG.

Sure, he's only the best player in all of baseball that anybody of this generation has ever seen... seriously, he's that good.

As an Astros fan, I loathe him just as much as anybody.... but you can't argue with what he's accomplished each and every year, both in the regular season as well as the playoffs.

I really thought that double he hit last night was going to be his last AB as a Cardinal. Now, with the way that game turned around, and a chance for them to win it all... it may just be enough for him to stick around there the rest of his career.

Now THAT would be something, and merely add more mystique to this game... not only one of the most dramatic WS games ever, but may have single-handedly caused Pujols to not end up leaving St. Louis.

I really don't think that hit or any hit in general swayed or would sway him one way or the other. Comes down to DeWitt opening up his chequebook.

Nolan Ryan is a distant relative of mine, and I harbor no ill-will towards the Rangers or the AL. And most Dallas folk who like the Rangers aren't nearly as insufferable as the Mavs/Cowboys crowd. Plus, LaRussa seems like a toolbag and what little baseball knowledge I have makes me hate the Cardinals. So, go Rangers.

I beg to differ, most of them up here in Dallas are just as bad as the Mavs/Cows fans.

Nolan is a childhood hero of mine so if the Rangers win I will be happy for him. I'd prefer the Cards win though, pulling for Berkman.

Agreed and I want to know from you and Max how hard it was to actually type "Go Cards!" I have had a really hard time doing that, but "Go Rangers" will never be typed on my keyboard (well except for that time).

Also add me to the group of I like Berkman people.

That's certainly true in the regular season, but the World Series is a different story. The home team doesn't even control their own roof or get their home game ticket revenues (that's split evenly between the two teams). MLB pretty much takes over, which is understandable since it's their showcase event.
