I don't think the UN can be considered a WORLD GOVERNMENT
Mainly because it seems 5 country run it but
A World government where everyone is represented equally

I think too many cultural differences exist to allow for the successful implementation of one. You know the bankers would love it though.

Not until humans start space colonies and fight aliens.

Yes it is possible, and we are heading that direction, but the internet has helped with the modern culture clash, as we are mixing and mashing all over the world, and people resist change, but the end result is inevitable.

It'll take a long time to get there. For now---for now---the idea seems very Star Trek.

Until the UN gets better colors and uniforms, this is impossible. (Think more Titans and less Oilers.)

Exactly. I thought the Euro was an attempt to concquer economically to the elitist bankers (rothchild type ect) with those ambitions.

    I will say this:

    baryons become a nucleus (hydrogen)
baryons become more complex nuclei (helium and onward)
    single atoms become molecules
molecules gather in planets and stars

    molecules grow
molecules form a single cell critter
single cells get together in multi-cell critters.
    multi-cell critters get pretty complex

seems like a pattern for more joining and "complexifying" as time goes on

maybe resistance will be futile to the drive of the universe.

"Take all that money that we spend on weapons and defense each year, and instead spend it feeding, clothing and educating the poor of the world, which it would many times over, not one human being excluded, and we could explore space, together, both inner and outer, for ever, in peace."
    - The Man

(Hey, I don't believe it, but that doesn't make it not brilliant.)
