http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/new...s-high-tech-texan-michael-garfield-in-trouble I don't know which I find most pathetic. The picture that he posted and captioned, or that he's using his son as a scapegoat.
"For him to compare a human being to an animal in this day and age is ridiculous", Sutton said. Brilliant.
I've never gotten over the label "the high-tech texan" that in itself is derogatory. as if to imply he is the only person in texas using technology. but i digress and i'll get back on my horse with my chaps and cowboy boots. yeehaw.
lol @ garfield's defense... "we took a picture comparing bush to a monkey too, so it's cool!" yeah mikey, sure ya did.
Whether it was racially motivated or not, it was incredibly stupid to post it. You can't compare black people and monkeys without it coming off as racist.
Isnt it interesting that if a non- racist person does something with no racial motivation and it just happens to come across racist (like here), then he gets labeled racist when in fact it is other people personal perception of racism that's being applied to him. That being said...it was real stupid to do.
Context and history. White people don't have a history of being enslaved under the theory that they are sub-human.
I remember when I lived at parents' house in Seabrook right after graduation. 2002 and they still had dial-up, so I emailed this guy about "some kind of mobile internet technology." Quick enough response but I don't even remember what the device that he thought "might be what you're looking for."
Just speaking from personal experience, black guys his age who grew up in Texas should have gotten used to this by now.
How nobody complained about that? they are comparing a human being to an animal I hate the lakers, and I think that post on facebook was bad, and shouldnt been posted, but that quote is not defending it very well.
