Bummer... but there still should be plenty from the other coastal states. Still, must be rough on some of those farmers. I was in Corpus over the weekend and it's was real strange seeing all the dead fish on the shores. There were some nice size flounders wasted
My family has been selling wholesale seafood around the coast since 1921. When I read this post I called my uncle and he gave some pretty disturbing news. One of his fishermen made a drag yesterday (shrimp boat) and every fish in the net was dead. Shrimp are not affected by 'red tide,' but it does kill fish/crabs, etc... We seriously need rain and a cool front!
and on the flip side, the mississippi had too much water draining into louisiana due to the flooding everywhere else and that screwed up other fisheries. That was earlier in the year, hopefully they have recovered by now. my bro's, wifes family is big in oysters (Tx/La), I'm wondering how they are doing now. its too bad because this is the money time of year coming up. If you want to b**** about Tx and Perry etc..., supposedly the state of Texas doesn't support these industries as much as La and other states do
