That might be true and hopefully it helps Obama, but the long term damage is that some of the bs sticks in the viewersr minds as something serious.

Pat Robertson is an old sophisticated pol, the son of a US Senator, and one of the alledged "preachers" who led so much of the working class to believe voting for conservative GOP economics is what Jesus wanted.

I've decided Herman Cain is hilarious. This is one of the greatest ads I've ever seen for anything.

I haven't voted for a Republican for President since 1988, but I would vote for Gary Johnson.

LOL... the GOP spin on Cain's smoker ad is "gee, it is great that he is comfortable in his own skin."

actually that's the tone i got from that ad, or even more you should be comfortable in your own skin. hence taking a shot at smoking which is now taboo.

that being said, it was still kind of weird

Certainly a strange ad, but nothing really damaging.

There was nothing damaging at all. It's one of my favorite all time political ads. It's hilarious.

I guess someone could say that it condones smoking because they chose to include it, but I don't really see that.

It's just hilarious. The guy blows smoke at the camera, and then Herman Cain does that really weird smile at the end that takes forever.

Why would they divide their power and have no ability to challenge the Democrats for most seats? American party politics are not like parliamentary party politics where coalitions can easily split and team up with another group, they would just all become irrelevant.

I agree the move would be self-destructive, but I think if we don't see a formal split, we'll see a very real divide that will make it very difficult for the GOP to win presidential elections.

Have you seen this guy Lutz that Colbert lampoons? He's the actual GOP public relations 'genius'. He gets paid a crapload to come up with this elementary Orwell speak from focus groups that sound like they would just love to help the coal industry loosen pollution laws.

    It blows my mind.

oh please oh please oh please oh please oh please oh pleeeeeeeease

I can pray, even if it won't happen. I think there's a large cross-section of social conservatives who are convinced that Jesus wants everyone to act in self-interest.

To his credit, they do have like a ma-billion of these GOP debates. Why is that? Just for FOX to get extra ad time? I can't figure it out.

At this stage of the game in the 2008 presidential election, there were 8 Democrat primary candidates. By your logic, I guess that also qualifies as a "ma-billion?"

Why is that? Just for MSNBC to get extra ad time? I can't figure it out.
