Seriously. You'd think UH would've dropped their baseball program to D-3 by now :p

I think you will have a hard time finding a Rice fan (other than Texxx) that would disagree with the idea that we suck at football, at least the past three seasons. Shoot, even Texxx is hedging his bets with the stuff about "key injuries." (Which we DO have, although I doubt will make that much of a difference in this particular matchup)

The way I feel about this game is the same way I felt on the day the Rapture was predicted to happen: "There's a 100% chance it won't happen (Rice winning/the Rapture). But if it did? That would be F***ING CRAZY."

I got spoiled with Rice going to 2 bowl games during my 4 years there, but now I'm starting to see that that stretch was the exception and what's transpired since is more like the rule.

Unfortunately I won't be making it down for the game, but will be watching online. I'll be in the thread to take my L afterwards -- or collect that sweet sweet W!

He'll redshirt more than likely ...but yes , I believe by his sophomore year, he'll have the job.... The kid reminds me alot of how Dalton played while at Katy... But has great mobility for a kid his size...

I'm a fan of Rice and I admit they suck in football. They have looked horrible at times this year. However, I'm not convinced their defense is any worse than what UH has done on defense.

When Matt Jackson, of all people, threw out some useless stats I just had to comment. Does anyone really believe the UH defense is the 43rd best defense in college football?

I know Rice is a horrible team, I just don't know how good UH really is. I suspect that UH is good on offense, but I think they may have one of the worst defenses in college ball.

Anyway, I am predicting a score of 61-24.

There is a reason Rice is able to schedule non conference teams like that and UH can't. UH just finished series with Tech, Miss St and Okla St and they held the advantage in all of them. If Rice ever beat those teams multiple times they would disappear from the schedule.

Exactly this, we don't have enough respect yet where beating us is a "feather in the cap" for an elite program, yet we are good enough that we are very tough to beat.

So people are going to schedule a Texas for the prestige or a Podunk Polytechnic for the easy W, the Cougars are neither fish or fowl.

son, let me tell you something. Baylor and UT-Austin branch are not equal to Georgia State. Please don't waste my time with such amateurish statistics in the future.

I could give a crap about strength of schedule. Watch the games Hooter. Your wins are against one of the 5 worst teams not named Rice in D-1 (Memphis) and a Purdue team that had to use its 6th string QB.

You should be concerned with the strength of the foot that's about to be put up your collective Owl backsides. I hope Sumlin puts 100 on you.

it's going to be great watching Case break the all-time touchdown record at Robertson. A fitting end to the CUSA era of the Bayou Bucket, as we stomp Owl nard on our way to a bigger, better conference. Maybe Rice can actually compete with the likes of North Texas and UT-San Antonio once they're conference mates.

Still no response to my tip jar bet? You're the one still proclaiming "scoreboard". Back up your ego.

Also known as "The Boise State Effect": bad enough to where nobody wants to watch you, good enough to where nobody wants to play you.

Tomorrow is the day, BRAH! The only reason those two schools play y'all is because they're too scared to play Big Brother Houston. They want the easy win and y'all bend over backwards and take it in the butt for them.

Houston Football: 2011 City Champs, brah!

Rice is a winning proposition for schools that want to recruit Houston. Your parents can watch you play without even leaving the comfort of home, if they sit together they can outnumber the Rice fans.....yet you only have to take marginally more risk of a loss than if you scheduled Jacksonville State. BRAH!

(To non Texxxy Rice Fans)- Er.....good win over Purdue! Way to payback Memphis for all their basketball trouncings. Baseball season is just around the corner!
