    during a single serving?

I'm hearing conflicting opinions on this. What is a sign you've taken more than you can absorb?

    Thanks,

its close to 50g. probably a bit less and depends on what type of protein you are talking about.

taking more will just go down the crapper.

50 sounds high. I can see 50 from a big meal but in powder form...

Why, do you have personal experiences to share?

Recommended max protein intake for trainer is 2g/kg/day divide into serving per day. Ppl don't realize the damages of excess protein biproduct can cause. Your liver, kidney, even brain gonna be much happier in long run

I probably shouldn't have even guessed, since there is a lot of conflicting reports on this, like ronny mentioned...but i thought i read a credible report mentioning ~20 over the 40-50 range...now i'm thinking i agree with the previous link in this thread though. It would depend on an individual's own ability and not all of it is used, so it's more of a percentage. I can't imagine 2 people of very different size and body comp would max out at the same amount.

Are you saying 50 is the max anyone could absorb? I guess that could be true in an ideal situation, but from person to person, how consistent is that number? Can you link your source?

+1, if you take too much, you could very well end up putting it on as fat instead of muscle. Or worse, form a big, jagged piece of calcium-oxiate in your kidneys.

    That **** hurts.

consume 20 to 25 g of protein per day for weight management and muscle maintenance purposes. Strength-training athletes may need 40 to 50 g of whey protein per day due to the increased energy requirements.

So if you're working out , the max amount you can absorb is around 50. And whey protein is a high quality source of protein but is still not as bioavailable as protein from meat and other food due to factors/enzymes that enhance absorption.

sorry I meant to quote you on the post above. But yea you're also right. There is no way every individual is the same. Depending on how healthy you are and how much you weigh you will absorb it accordingly.

Were you talking about daily intake or a single serving? I noticed your last post was referring to daily intake, but i was originally talking about just one serving, since that's what ronny had asked.
