Dwight Lopez Gasol Bynum Chandler Bogut Noah others are just a bunch of misfits that happen to be 7" or close to it. Or PF playing as Centers.
Yao, me too. We have to get a legit big man that can give us 30 mpg, block a couple shots, deter a bunch more, give us 10 boards. All this trade speculation in the trade thread about upgrading the SF, upgrading the PG, upgrading the SG, it's just nonsense. We gotta get a legit 5, period. I am very curious about Del Monte. Wanted to see if anybody would put him in the talk.
Seriously, after Dwight, can't you take the next 7 on that list, throw them in a hat and pick one? McGee?? He's athletic but that don't mean he can play. I think he's a r****d and will never really be good. JMO though.
Howard Bogut Lopez Gasol Noah Chandler Bynum Cousins Bargnani McGee I feel like I should qualify this list by saying that I haven't had my mind tuned to basketball for months now, and I didn't really put much thought into this.
1. Howard 2. Bogut 3. Bynum 4. Noah 5. Nene 6. Horford 7. Chandler 8. Gasol 9. Duncan 10. Gortat Don't like defensively soft centers like B. Lopez and Jefferson.
LOL. You figured out my advanced ranking system. As for McGee, his name just popped into my head. I should replace him with Hibbert.
1. Dwight Howard . . . . . 2. Andrew Bogut 3. Joakim Noah 4. Al Horford 5. Marc Gasol 6. Tyson Chandler 7. Amare Stoudemire (glorified PF playing C and no defense, but better than other options at C) 8. Nene 9. Marcin Gortat 10. Brook Lopez
how has nobody mentioned okafor? The guy has perennially averaged a double double while establishing himself as an elite shot blocker. He has been the anchor for a defense that was ranked top 5 in points allowed last year and has kept the team there in years past. McGee or gortat before okafor? Really?
Dwight Bogut Marc Gasol Bynum Duncan Chandler Noah Okafor Nene ChuckWagon Honorable mentions to PF/C combos, LaMarcus Aldridge and Al Horford.
There are currently no tier 2 centers IMO. I also feel like Howard is just entering tier 1. Tier 2 centers 10 years ago were guys like Smits, Mutombo and Morning. Right now Lopez might be the only guy with the tools to enter into that echelon but he blows right now.
