Yes sir, not everyone is in to open world games BTW, IGN Uncharted 3 review http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1210241p2.html Game of the Year
Need to play the first 2 before I pick this one up. I've heard nothing but great things from this series.
Getting Great reviews, but not quite GOTY. Gamerankings and Metacric have it at 94 and 93 percent, which is still under Battlefield 3 and Arkham City
waiting for the Bundle with the 320GB PS3. Saw a black friday site with the box and set price at $299.
This game looks awesome. I'm moving right into this as soon as I finish up Arkham City. I was going to wait until I got the platinum, but I think the challenge maps on Arkham City can wait for Uncharted 3. I don't think we'll see improvement on par from Uncharted 1 to Uncharted 2, but this game does look better than Uncharted 2. I'm hoping for more interactive cinematic experiences.
Honestly, I would go directly into UC3 without playing the first 2. This might not be the case for everyone, but the same formula might get stale for some after playing it twice. The story I'm sure will hold up on its own, so going straight to UC3 is guaranteed to blow you away(like UC1 did for me).
2 reviews are up, Naughty Dog has delivered again http://ps3.ign.com/articles/121/1210241p2.html IGN defines a 10.0 -- a masterpiece -- as "the pinnacle of gaming, a masterpiece may not be flawless, but it is so exceptional that it is hard to imagine a game being better." That's Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. From start to finish, single player to multiplayer, this game sings. The characters, the graphics, the sound, the story – they’re all top notch. If you’re willing to skip Uncharted 3, be prepared to miss one of gaming’s finest moments. http://beingnerdy.com/gaming/uncharted-3-drakes-deception-review Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is perhaps the greatest game of our generation. There’s simply no other game on the market that comes even close to this masterpiece. It’s simply once in lifetime gaming experience that no gamer should miss out on. If you don’t have a PS3, you need to buy one, NOW!
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-10-21-uncharted-3-drakes-deception-review The "controversial" Eurogamer review. Kind of echos some of my concerns. Like I said, if this is your first ever Uncharted game, it will blow you away. If it's the 3rd time around, the (rigid)formula could start getting stale, for some.
I didn't really read the full text (although who does with reviews anymore?), but I do like how a 8/10 is controversial. 8/10 or 10/10, still a great game that people should check out. Partly why I don't bother to put much stock in the scores. Just need to figure out if the game is "good enough," and if so, I'll make my own judgment. Though on a side-note, IIRC that reviewer was "critical" of U2 as well. Seems he doesn't want games to be like "interactive movies." If you share that same opinion, then yeah, Uncharted is not for you (any of them, not just 3).
