He was throwing to Jacoby the whole game and Jacoby kept running the wrong way.

    That's why they signed Mason.

to me, vickers should have caught that ball and you're looking at matt with a three touchdown performance and only one pick. You would remember matt stepping up and taking a big hit, to make a sensational throw and an even more sensational catch by Dreesen setting up the game winning field goal.

Knowing our luck, it probably gets blocked.

That safety was Tyvon Branch, led the Raiders in tackling since Morrison left and probably a top 5 safety in the game right now. I wouldn't be so sure Schaub attempting the first juke his career would throw Branch off. And how many occasions where the QB runs for it 5 yards away does he try a juke move? Maybe there's a pump fake, but other than that they just run, jump, reach.

I would have been ok with that... When he started running sideways, I knew something bad was going to happen.. Anytime Schaub is running toward the line of scrimmage , it isnt gonna end pretty... Anytime he runs sideways(scrambling, or breakdown of original play), an off-target throw ensues... Either way , we were basically screwed...

what matt really should have done was stayed perfectly still. That was, the defense would have never seen him as they only hunt by motion.

Just so you know, the above statement sounds just about as reasonable as everything else presented above.

Forget the detailed analysis. Can you honestly name any other situation or sport where a guy who has never even sniffed a winning record, much less made a postseason, was considered clutch? We weren't dubbed Clutch City until......

I'm sure you would love to, because it's about the only way you can support your argument. We've been over this a zillion times. Schaub plays well in the 4th quarter and has led this team to the brink of victory several times, where his teammates have completely let him down. If you want to put that on him, then go ahead, but it makes you look either stupid or very biased.

It's not Schaub's fault that the Texans were one of the worst defensive teams in history last year. He would repeatedly get the Texans to a lead in the 4th, only to have the defense lose it.

    Is that too much detail?

Schaub statistically is one of the better deep passers because he's a smart QB. He pick his spots well, and any intended deep throws that aren't there turns into dump-offs or throw-aways.

Another way to put it is that if the Texans ever run a vertical passing system, Schaub would look horrible.

I'm not a Schaub hater, and probably has a higher opinion of him than most people here. But his arm is just not that good. It's more that his arm is "good enough" to be effective once you factor in his other skills.

Matt Schaub completed 20+ yard passes to 5 different receivers today.

    Without Andre Johnson.

I have no concerns about Schaub. None.

Late to the party, and while I do have my reservations about Schaub, I wanted to point out that last week's TD to JJ was an amazing play. Kudos to Schaub, Kubiak, JJ, and definitely the offensive line. The best football analysis show on tv (NFL Matchup) showed coaches film a few weeks ago about "run-action", not typical play-action. Hodge was showing that a team that establishes the run can do successful "run-action" plays and broke-down Green Bay's film. This is where the the O-Line pulls and stunts and does run-blocking maneuvers that force the LBs DBs to commit. This is much more effective than play-action, which just fakes a hand-off while everyone else is pass-blocking. Well executed run-action is hard to do, but when done, is an amazing weapon. The Texans pulled it off great on that play, and hopefully with a strong run game, can continue to do so. Now it's time to watch this week's tape.

ctfl+F results in two instances of the word "elite" on this page.

And they are both on YOUR post.

It comes down to the Motto in My Signature

"Under Ideal circumstances. . . people perform Ideally. . . the measure of a person is how the perform under less than Ideal conditions."

Under Ideal Circumstances . . .Schuab is TheBomb.com

However . . under less than ideal circumstances. . he is suspect

Playing without Andre on the road in Tennessee is ideal to you?
