Never said iPhone 4s was cutting edge, but its SoC design obviously is because no one has match the dual-core cpu/GPU combo of the A5.
Never said that it was Samsung's chip, I believe I said the iPhones A5 chip was made by Samsung. Which is essentially what you just repeated by saying they manufacture it. man·u·fac·ture (mny-fkchr) v. man·u·fac·tured, man·u·fac·tur·ing, man·u·fac·tures v.tr. 1. a. To make or process (a raw material) into a finished product, especially by means of a large-scale industrial operation. b. To make or process (a product), especially with the use of industrial machines. Yes, I am also aware that they are moving away from Samsung. They're currently in talks with Toshiba, and other vendors to continue making it. See, the patent things are real funny to me. Does Apple not realize that Samsung owns some pretty nifty patents in regards to mobile 3g technology? Including something that AT&T loves to brag about .. The ability to receive an e-mail while on a call is one of them.. Sorry for sounding like a huge dick, but honestly why don't you just stop posting in this thread. The OP did not start the thread with "iPhone or Android?! discuss here? " If you firmly believe the iPhone is a superior phone, then by all means go ahead and do so, after all, it's your right.
Apple accounts for 50%plus of the profit share of the smartphone market. Those 3 Android suppliers are less than half that...more than a 1/3 but less than half of Apple's. The data is from the beginning of 2011, but not much has change profit share-wise (which is different than market-share).
Show me where I said the iPhone is a superior phone? I said Android has it's issues. Like I said before....I'm dual-booting a Touchpad with Android and webOS. I don't hate Android. It seems some of these guys just HATE on Apple because it is a "cool" thing to do.
What's hilarious about this troll is how he's bragging about how Apple takes more of his money than other phone manufacturers do. It's kinda pathetic, actually. But still hilarious.
The Galaxy Nexus has a PenTile display, a worse gpu than the s2, and it seems a tad bit too big. Has me leaning towards getting the s2 or 4s. Especially if the s2 can get ICS soon.
Of course it "ties in" genius, that doesn't mean it's the same thing. You can't back up your claim, just admit it. Don't try to weasel out of it.
lol.....if you are too dense to see margin and share relationship...then ok. Companies won't disclose their exact margins...don't be a dick.
How am I being a dick? You called me dense first. Margin and share are related, but not the same. Post the margin info if you have it.
I'd pay more too if it mean't keeping carrier crapware off of my phone. Hate Apple for all the various reasons they can give you, but you have to admit, they did get it right in how they approach carriers. They made them their b****. Everyone else (consumers and manufacturers like Samsung) is content to letting the carriers make them their b****. I mean, it's not enough that they rape you with $20 texting plans, but they've got to shove and cross-sell their other services via crap apps that can't be removed unless you root? Quite r****ded.
I'm just glad for Android because the competition between Google & partners and Apple is great for everyone. Without Android, there probably would only be an iPhone 2 and no telling how much it would cost.
I though the GPU was the same one? ICS was optimized for that GPU from what I have heard. I think it's a great phone, but if I didn't have Verizon, I'd probably be on an S2 as well
Also I read that the GPU is clocked higher. It's basically the same one in the Nexus S but instead of 200mhz it's clocked at 384mhz.
