Normally I wouldn't share something like this, but since there's no other real news, I figured I might as well. My friend plays AAU basketball, and his coach roomed with Marcus in college, so he invited him to a practice. My friend played one on one with him, says he's really athletic and could pull off all sorts of crazy dunks. I wish I could have met him, but if my friend's analysis is correct, Morris will be a great addition to the team.
He's 16, and about 6 feet. He also said Marcus threw down a windmill after his coach lobbed the ball up. It's probably not that unique of a skill for someone who played in college, but he sounds really athletic.
That's a unique skill if you're on this current rockets team. K low, t will, and morris would be a fun fast break tandem to watch.
The people who passed on him in the draft thinking he was just another undersized 4... Or everyone that has said he can't play the 3.. He's got a chip, no doubt about it. When he did his combine with other 3s the commentators thought he just wanted people to think he COULD play the 3. Marcus wants to show people that he IS a 3... This guy has me really excited..
IIRC, he played the fast break poorly b/c of poor decision-making. Though if all he has to do is wait for the pass from Lowry or TWill, i guess it won't matter!
Any drafted player will be more athletic than a 16 yr old kid, unless he was being presented as the next Kobe/LeBron. The 2nd rounders and NBDL players would seem athletic to him. I want to see how athletic he is against NBA talent not high school kids. The NBA is a whole 'nother level than high school basketball.
