this game will make or break our season.. i just feel it! if we lose, we prolly go .500 the rest of the way and blow games against teams like the falcons, bengals and browns.. if we win, i can honestly see us go 8-2 or 9-1 rest of the way

I feel the TALENT is there
I just don't have the confidence in the Coaching to take them there

and that's the darned frustrating part of it since our 8-8 season. The talent is all there, take your pick. They just lack the coaching to get to the next step. So so frustrating.

I think the talent was there for 9 or 10 wins. Last year, even with the poor defense there was talent for 10-11 wins. This year it's there for 12 or 13.

How are these two NFL staples not in our playbook with any kind of consistency?

Jump ball in the end zone(that 80 guy is really tall, really strong, and can jump really high)

    QB Sneak on inches

I see the sneak quite a bit in inches situations, but the fade route to AJ not so much. I have always thought that was not used enough by the Texans. The only thing I could think of is that either Schaub or AJ isn't very good at the play for some reason.

I see the sneaks, but I don't think we have the beefy offensive line to call it on a regular basis. In short yardage situations, we would probably get bullied if teams knew we were just stacking up, and going hard between the tackles.

The fade route is something I don't understand. I'm willing to bet that Schaub just isn't accurate enough to pull it off with any consistency. He tends to have problems being accurate in short, confined spaces, so that might have something to do with it. Either way, it's a damn shame we can't find Andre the ball in the end zone more often. Calvin Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald have made names for themselves in the red zone.....Andre is every bit as beastly as them, if not more.

If a lack of fade is a Schaub thing, it's very telling and another chink in his armor.

Then again, I don't remember it much during Carr's days either, and Carr had an arm.(just no head on his shoulders)

on his show today, CP mentioned something about how one of callers (earlier in the week?) had mentioned that when the Texans were in a shotgun formation that Chris Myers would give away the snap count by something he was doing. I'm assuming that it was looking back at Schaub before he snapped it. Did anyone else pick up on Myers doing anything unusual or abnormal while Schaub was in the gun?

I'd be curious also, if there was a discernible effect on the Ravens pass rush. Were guys able to time the snap better?

Just curious, wonder if anyone else was listening and heard that as well?!?

I dont know if it will break our season, but it sure as hell will break the Texan fans faith in them... The bandwagoners will surely jump off and some of the loyal fans will probably become bandwagoners. Domino!!

I'm hoping Derrick Mason has a big day in his hometown. It would be nice if he had six catches with a couple TDs.

    When we inside the 5 . . .
Why is the Slant not run?

Slot WR slants. . . uses his body to shield the CB or safety behind him from the ball
and offers a big ole target????

I don't see this one enough

I believe that's the route that KW ran against the Raiders to score on the Texans' opening drive. KW ran a slant with OD and David Anderson clearing out underneath resulting in a TD for the home team.

Similar. Walter comes from the outside position on this play
I was thinking of something a bit quicker from the Slot Receiver
[which was OD on this play]

I just keep thinking on the last play against the Raiders
    OD from the position
Runs a quick slant like that
IF it is there. . hit it. . if not throw it away and try again
the total play happens in less than 7 seconds

    <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/uS4AsE9rOQc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

reviewing this last play . . .looks like they had something similar on the left side
but . . .it took to long to develop
[why not a skinny slant from the slot instead
of bringing the WR from the extreme left when you have only 7 seconds]
    KKUUUUBBBEEESS!!!!!

Looking at the play once again . . it is not on Jacoby [not all anyway]
Schaub was late getting the ball there.
Jacoby was IN FRONT of the CB with his hands up
He did make one mistake though . . he should have Really STOPPED and KEPT HIMSELF BETWEEN THE CB AND QB
Loosely translated he should have Boxed out and made himself a target

So Kevin Walter was on 790 this morning:

    LanceZierlein Lance Zierlein
Kevin Walter just called Courtland Finnegan a prick. He is right. Finnegan is a prick.

I agree, IMO, Jones kind of strung Schaub out to dry in the sense that Schaub probably made up his mind to throw the ball to Jacoby when he was in front of Huff, but then Jacoby quickly turned around and ran for the corner of the end zone. Keeping with the basketball analogies, I thought this was akin to faking going backdoor.

I barely gave a 2nd thought to the Baltimore game.

This game I will languish over for a while.

    So important.
