What will you be buying? Modern Warfare 3 or Battlefield 3?

BF3, probably sometime next year (or later) whenever I want to see pretty graphics. And hopefully when BF3 is on sale for cheap.

But for now, I'm only really thinking about Dark Souls.

 

M rated game is meant for 15 year olds...totally. You people from the Battlefield thread get intensely defensive over a video game.

Anyway, I'll be buying modern warfare -- and not out of loyalty to a brand (I didn't buy Black Ops, and I've never even touched the multiplayer on it...single player ended up being pretty good). I like the gameplay for modern warfare better (multiplayer); I feel it's faster paced and more skillful. I'm also curious to see how they're going to end the campaign.

 

I totally agree. I loved MW (cod4?). Since then, COD has been CRAP.

 

Battlefield of course...

I like the bigger landscapes and the slower, more realistic feel as opposed to the quicker hallway shooter...

 

Just pre-ordered MW3 today. The game is gonna rock and you know it. You know you're gonna end up buying it.

 

laser bullets are more skillful? What aspect of mw is skillful. 90% of the multiplayer experience is who ever has the drop on you wins... because every weapon almost has similar recoil(none) and no bullet drop effect. Battlefield 3 has bullet drop and recoil. Thus its not about who has the drop on who, but who is more accurate.

Its not that hard to guess since the mw2 story seemed to be directed by Michael Bay before you took any art classes. Ya it was that bad.

It's fun. The new Beast mode or whatever is a blast (Horde as the bad guys).

Got to get through that and Batman, then I think I may pick up Battlefield.

Actually...I win a lot of fights even if I don't see the other person first. Usually I see them first. It's about positioning, awareness, and thinking -- aim helps.

As for the weapons having no recoil, I really have no clue what you're referring to. In regards to bullet drop, I assume you're referring to them losing vertical height as they travel. I'll tell you the same thing I tell these people that always want to say Super_Ultra_Hardcore_mode_where_you_die_from_one_bullet_is_better; more realism does not necessarily equal more fun. And if you play in tournaments like myself, it definitely doesn't make it a better game for tournament play. Usually it makes it worse.

Let me give you an example: America's Army...I used to see games consistently being won without a single shot fired. Is that realistic? Yep. Is it cool that there's a game perspective on that? Yep. Does that necessarily make it fun? Nope. Don't get me wrong either, America's Army is a good game -- but when I play a shooter...it's so I can...you know...shoot at people.

 

Probably, but Michael Bay movies aren't interactive. I think the difference between BF3 fans and Call of Duty fans right now is; people who play CoD generally don't care if you play BF3 -- whereas people who play BF constantly need to make it known how much better it is than CoD.

It's like all the aggies driving around with "saw'em off" on their vehicles. I can't remember the last time I saw a UT vehicle with anything anti-A&M on it.

I probably wont be buying either, lil disappointed with that MW3 wont be having zombies, since thats the game i spend most my time playing... Im not gonna lie, im a total COD fanboy, COD4 was amazing and I wish I never traded it in
oh how i miss my gold plated AK. any rate, I bought the last BF and was severely disappointed, felt like I spent 75% running from the spawn point just to get to the enemy. I hope that BF3 is a great game so itll push COD to pick up their 'game'.
