Maybe if a PG was the only player allowed to dribble, it would be debatable, otherwise, its an asinine comparison. A quarterback is the single most important position in sports
Just recently the NFL has become a QB league, just like the NBA has become a PG league. QB is not the only player allowed to touch the ball, RB touch the ball quite often too, hell in our offense they touch the ball almost 40% of the time. RB can throw the ball too, anyone can if they are lateraled the ball behind the line of scrimmage.
last time I checked the best players on the two best teams in the NBA (Heat and Mavs) where Forwards (Lebron/Dirk). You're digging.
No, he plays well period. Why you gotta put a negative spin on it? Either he plays well or he doesn't. I say he plays well.
Just like T-Mac in the Playoffs T-Matt just ain't made it to the Playoffs yet As far as pushing the team further . . . .he has not done it T-Mac inherited a team that lost in the 1st round of the playoffs During his tenure. . .they never made it past the 1st round just won a few more regular season games So far . . . T-Matt/Kubiak is the same They inherited a non-playoff team During their tenure. . .they never made it to the playoffs just won a few more regular season games now they can change it this year They have a weak schedule they need to stop shrinking Rocket River
the tmac comparison is a big reach and honestly just a weak attempt to throw stink on Schaub. If you want to ridicule him for his faults, do it but don't throw out this vague and incorrect reach of a label on him.
Seriously, comparing him to TMac and then lumping him with Kubiak? I agree it's do or die this year....for Kubiak, not Schaub.
yeah didn't you know, the NFL use to be about pounding out the rock and playing hard nosed D. Now its more about scoring in bunches and forcing the other team to throw because they are down 14 points. Kind of like the NBA, everyone wants a pg who can push the pace now and get buckets in transition so teams don't have time to set up their defense.
Schaub is 'Good enough' I think he has about 3 year window though. This year.. . . well he seems to be showing decline I will give some of it to AJ not being there but not all of it. I would have traded Schaub for two 1st Rounders!! They do need to start looking for the NEXT QB . . if not in the next draft the one after it. [unless there is some back up out there you got your eye on] Rocket River
The similar Colts team that just happens to be WOEFULLY INEPT & LAST in the league without him? Not that Peyton CARRIED the team by himself. Though his importance is definitely realized. Also, referencing another thread, how come Colts can have all the high end WR talents at their disposable? Why isnt there any Brandon Stokely/Austin Collie is "all we need" over there.
Just wish he would have actually tried to run for the TD in that Raiders game. I understand hes slow as molasses, but I think he could have made the corner on the pylon at least.
I would wager, if you took all of that talent away from Peyton, and saddled him with Painter-level scrubs at those positions that, while not as bad, you'd probably have a pretty mediocre Colts' team. He is obviously the best player on that team and better than even I realized (and I thought he was pretty doggone good) - but he doesn't do it by himself. I'm still at a bit of a loss that they're *that* bad.
