I'm sure Dirk is happy with the ring instead of a #1 ranking by ESPN/NBA/whatever. However I'm sure ranking LBJ #1 is better for business. In short, it's a complete joke.

    Here I am!

And I don't hate him for what he does or doesn't do on the court.

Put Lebron on the Mavs and they lose the championship. 0 rings and a choke artist.

Switch LeBron and Dirk and I say Dirk gets more rings with Wade and Bosh than LeBron does with Terry, Kidd and Chandler.

I put LeBron as 3rd best player right now.

    1.Dirk
    2. Wade
    3. LeBron
    4. Dwight
    5.CP3

I could see Rose knocking CP3 off that list and Durant surpassing Wade if he ever learns how to play defense.

This is really funny that this guys think that ESPN putting lebron(who they considerable staff relentlessly voting forhim for MVP every year for the past few years) is some sort of justification.

We get it, the boy puts up stats, I don't think anyone doubts that. That is not what is up for argument. I think the question is his Intangibles(or lack thereof) and his dedication, commitment to winning, progressing, doing wahtever it takes to win and being the leader to live up to the potential and unique talent that his freakish athleticism has given him.
And ESPN and john hollinger's PER is not waht the 'haters' have against this clown.

Lebron is definitely the best player in the NBA. You could put Dwight there because of the lack of other centers.

But no one matches what Lebron does.

Once again ,here is the way I put it. I am not a fan of Lebron. I don't like the hyping up his free agency since 2008, I don't think he is agood teammate, I don't like the way I feel it matters more to him to be a celebrity rather than truly dedicated to winning and the craft. I don't like his 3rd person talk, etc. This is all my opinion on the character and approach of lebron on which I have seen of course.

That said, strictly on the court. If I need a fantasy basketball player for my Yahoo team, I don't like the guy, but I take him number one everytime. He is a stat stuffer and the best statistics guy in the league. He is hte most athletic guy in the league. That said, I don't look at PER and numbers when I determine who I respect and appreciate their approach to the game. PER leaders hasn't been the Finals MVP the past few years....

If I needed to win a game, if I wanted a leader, if I wanted the last shot...Lebron won't do any of those, if I need someone to put up a lot of stats and get a guy for my fantasy GM, lebron is my guy. So I agree he is the number one stats guy, he is the number one PER, he puts up stats,t but he is not the guy I choose for leadership ,for winning, for approach to the game.

Is Lebron ranked #1 based on logic or emotion? Or do you feel he should be ranked lower due to logic of emotion?

Just a little OT side note. Most men reason off logic, most women reason off emotions.

this is just gross..go back to the mavs boards..deserve a permaban for posting nasty pics...at least spoiler it...

Lebron is arguably the best player in the league right now and undeniably in the top 3...anyone gonna argue that?

Me posting that pic doesn't make me a Mav fan. You have to acknowledge who the champion and he is that. The #1 player is not.

Lebron, the chosen one...by ESPN and its rating driven journalism.

Lebron, rings, 0. Choked several times in the big stage already. Yeah, at this point, softy Dirk is better than him.

Lebron took his talent to South Beach but his hairline is going North.

According to ESPN article debate, Morey also thinks Lebron is #1.
