(Based on a recent experience.) Dilemma: If you are in a public restroom near other people at the urinal or sink, and fart, do you say, "Excuse me"? Pro: You should always excuse yourself when farting. You subjected them to potentially offensive sounds and odors. Con: The restroom is the appropriate place to fart. You shouldn't excuse yourself for allowing bodily functions to happen in the appropriate place.
I actually didn't do it. The person at the urinal next to me farted loudly, and didn't excuse himself.
He should have laughed it off... Then he would have acknowledge it !!! ... This is actually a real poll?
As far as I'm concerned, you can make all the noise you want in the restroom, but don't talk to me. I don't want to hear your sorry for your hot farts. I don't wan't to know how great it feels to pee, or how long you've waited. No talk, no eye contact. I want no bathroom friends.

I'm leaning towards no. It's a place to deposit feces. Also, dudes don't have to be as proper around each other. I would probably laugh if some guy farted my way as a joke.

It depends. If you're in there taking a ****, then it's entirely understandable if you fart. But if you've done your business and are standing there washing your hands, then no, it's not an appropriate place to fart.
