Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - 7/10 I really like the RDJr and Iceman duo. Had a good few LOL moments. You know what, you're right. I guess I wasn't the target demographic of that movie. I was still bored more than half the time, though.
Tree of Life was awful. It doesn't even try to entertain. I'm a big fan of artsy movies but this one was entirely pointless. If a director's aim is to make personal movies, he needs to just keep it to himself and not bore audiences with this.
X-Men First Class: Very good. Way better than expected. Thor: Decent. Too much background was needed to explain the character. I expect the next Thor movie to be much better.
Maybe Pirates of the Caribbean would have extra added value if watched on Blu ray. I assume you're talking about the first one, because that one I enjoyed. OTOH Bad Teacher isn't even worth watching free on TNT.
Watched Little Fockers last night. Might be the worst movie I have ever seen. Watched the whole damn thing.
Red State: 4/10 Horrible, aimless movie. Had potential at the beginning, some great actors, and then....wtf? And the ending... Spoiler Wouldn't it have been a great twist if it actually was the rapture, instead of 'kids with an ipod and a big speaker'? Ack.... Cop-Out, then this? Kevin Smith needs to stick to directing smart stoner comedies.
Paranormal activity 3 I'll give it a 7.6/10. Didn't like the ending, wish the dude would've stomped them hags. That babysitter was hot. Had a lot of unexpected scares good thing I sat in the very back.
I read just enough of the above post to assume that it contains a spoiler. Please do not post spoilers of current movies in this thread.
I have to agree with you, its starts off well then just kind of turns into a mess. Wasted all the strong actors.... Spoiler I agree with you, I thought that's what he was doing and I was like, well that's an interesting twist and really sets up some really interesting morality to the film but instead we get that mess and overlong stupid interview of Goodman's character....
Johnny English Reborn - 8/10 Believe it or not, yes. I am a big fan of Atkinson, he is always absolutely brilliant in everything he has ever been in, and this was him still at the top of his game. Apparently they have been marketing this mainly on the kids' shows on TV, Nickelodeon, places like that (although there is not one kid in it really), so I took my 10-year-old son to see it. And I am glad to say, first of all, that it is actually safe to take you children to see (unlike the fiasco with that movie Paul, which was also heinously marketed to children when in reality it was possibly one of the last movies I would want to let a small child watch). This movie was amazingly funny. And I suppose I can see why they marketed it toward kids, as there were several in the audience and they were laughing the whole time. Let me put it this way: my son has talked about it almost nonstop for the last three days, and has at several points said 'Dad, I can never see that movie again. It broke my laugher!' Now I am not meaning to imply this is a kids' movie, because it's not. It's just refreshing to me when someone makes a movie that is well-made, safe, and so thoroughly entertaining. I wish Hollywood could grasp the notion that 'family' entertainment doesn't have to be pandering or stupid (for example, the 'pre-show' entertainment featured a bit on Disney's 'Puppy Buddies', which is possibly the lowest form of dreck I have ever seen. In about one minute, the producers managed to insult the intelligence of absolutely every group possible, and not one child in the audience gave an audible response to it at all) Anyway, I like Hangover and Pineapple Express and comedies like that as much as anyone, but I must say I recommend this one as highly as I can, and do not hesitate to let your kids or your grandmas watch it with you.
Paranormal Activity 3: 7/10 I have never scene the previous one, but I liked it a lot...A lot of suspensful, shocking scares, and freaky stuff....A little predictible, but would recommend...
