I am excited over the 2012 lottery, which is absolutely where Morey should be guiding the Rockets.

But more importantly, I am one hundred percent not excited over Battle Fighting to a first round blowout or barely missing the playoffs and winding up with another mid round pick. No, I am definitely not excited about that.

It still amazes me we got both Motiejunas and Marcus Morris. I'd like to see what McHale can do for Hill and Scola.

We need to trade everyone over the age of twenty eight on our team for picks and young talent.

I am excited about the Rockets any year, period. I love basketball, so I'm always ready to see my team.

Not excited nor down on them. If/when they're back, I'll be watching. Whatever happens happens.

In the middle. I'll watch to see players develop, but I know this team is not going anywhere. And see if any trade happens. That's all.

My first thought when I has saw the thread title. It's almost like trying to name the Astros.

I think I'll enjoy it as a bit more of a pastime than the passion its been for me in the past. Coaches are really important to me and the last three, each a favorite of mine, have been unceremoniously dumped (not just fired but mistreated into the bargain) and that's left a bad taste in my mouth. From the coaches to Calvin to Turbo, Les seems to me like an unusually disloyal owner and that's making it harder to root for my favorite team. I also have a real hard time getting excited over the Kevin McHale era.

Interesting post. I could be wrong, but I think that's also adding to the team's culture of 'everyone's an asset.' Furthermore it's bleeding into the fans who want to see everyone cut and traded; we'd rather not win a single regular season game until the season when we're somehow guaranteed to be a top seed and go to the championship.

I feel like the joy of being a Rockets fan is being warped. Or maybe it's just because all the die-hard arm-chair GM fans are on Clutchfans and they obsess over long-term projections instead of savoring short term victories, even though they can't see behind Morey's office doors.

Let's have one Houston team make it to the playoffs this year, then we can start aiming for a playoff run.

Honestly, no. If we make some trades, I might get excited pretty quickly. I'm sure I'll get there either way, but right now I don't really care if the season gets cancelled. If it does, we get to jump right into the CP3/DWill/Dwight party, The Lakers, Spurs, Mavs, etc will all probably 2 years older and It'll be a new era. I just don't feel that this upcoming season will accomplish much.
