I guess we have our choice
    Either
    1. Avoiding the hit Schaub
    or
    2. Ben Taub Schaub

The first couple of years we could not keep Mr. Glass on the field
Now that he has played a couple of complete seasons . . .he might be a lil gun shy
    of the hits

They all do, DD - *all* of them. No QB consistently rises to every occassion. There's scores of evidence to suggest Schaub does not underperform with any consistency in key situations. in fact, the evidence suggests just the opposite if anyone is willing to view it with an open mind.

The problem is - as casual NFL fans, we're apt to remember when they (ie all QBs that aren't Schaub) do, and as hyper-Texan fans, apt to remember when he doesn't. But I promise you, he's not failing any more than the elite QBs.

Interesting, so you think he is getting a little touch of the Carr-itis?

He does bail out way too often, even that last play, he bailed.....

In the redzone this season he has been tossing off his back foot all year, even when he was not under duress....

Can't play scared in the NFL...they will eat you up, didn't some Raider player even say he choked and could have run it in?

He's taken plenty of hits this year.

Lloyd could of really helped Schaub. Hopefully, Marshall can be had for a 3rd.

He's a ticking time bomb ready to explode, but enough of the boy scouts.

I think some folx are simply Texan P.R.
Same folx were telling us it was NOT DAVID CARR'S FAULT.
BTW sage is in Miami ... Where is Carr?

    Matt is better than Carr.
But the ultra homers will tell us
    The Texans do no wrong.

I am definitely not on the lynch Schaub bandwagon, and this may be correct, but I'd like to see the numbers behind this statement.

(sigh) I have absolutely no idea why we're talking about David Carr, who left five years ago, but... you do realize Sage is in Miami because... David Carr beat him out in New York, right?

Do you write in haiku - is that what this is? The Texans do *plenty* wrong.

    Here:
    Sound at all familiar?

And here's an entire article that meticulously details how often truly great QBs come up short in close and late sitautions. Enjoy!

This has nothing on the Schaub comparison you are guaranteeing.

this debate wouldnt happen near as much had the defense made stops last year after the texans took the lead and had Chris brown made a couple FGs the year before that.

Here's why I have nothing more than a cursory interest in continuing: It doesn't matter. You'll just move the target; you (all) have no interest in considering any opinion that you didn't form however many years ago and are sticking to nomatterwhatnahnahnahI'mnotlisteningtoyou!.

The two articles detail *several* QBs and their losing records in "close and late" situations. If it doesn't make you re-evaluate Schaub and how he's done... sorry. What more can I do? I've done this "yeah but"... dance already. He's not perfect. None of them are. Too many have set way too high a standard.

People will always blame the QB, especially in Houston where we had the traumatic David Carr experience.

There's just no point in even arguing, they aren't going to be convinced. They just pull out the "DAVID CARR!" card.
