How does Brandon Lloyd address any of this?

(Note - I'm perfectly OK with any kind of upgrade - I'm just at a loss when WR became such a massive, glaring issue. Our best offensive player is hurt. We'll be OK once he's back healthy.)

I was responding to your post where you were talking about a #2 WR generally...not about Lloyd.

We could use a legit #2 threat, imo. I see it as a hole.

Best offensive players get hurt...ours seem to get hurt quite often. Having another threat wouldn't suck.

Did you say 28-31 teams would love to have Texans talent ? Are you being serious or an incredible homer ?

We have him: Owen Daniels. Arian Foster. Those guys are Pro Bowlers and playmakers. Kevin Walter is dependable; so, too, is Derrick Mason. Dreesen, Casey and Jacoby have all flashed talent.

I would rate #2 WR as..... the 50th hole on a list of 45.

That's fine. But Brandon Lloyd ain't Andre Johnson. And you want to talk about getting hurt quite often......

No; I didn't - I mean - you quoted my post: did you not read it? I said 28-31 teams would trade their *skill players* for ours - name a better threesome than Johnson, Foster, Daniels. Throw in Mason, Walter + Casey, Jones, Dreesen... Not many teams stack up to that.

I'm talking about legit #2 threats as wideouts. And I don't care if it's Brandon Lloyd. I'm open to suggestion, and I'm guessing the Texans will seek a WR in the draft in the first few rounds.

Arian is a RB. I'm talking about adding a legit threat to the receiving corps.

I'll say it again...it does not surprise me you and I view this differently. We view seemingly everything differently.

I would seriously take Chargers , Pats , Saints, Packers over the Texans offenses along with few others.

BTW - Texans rank #15 in pts scoring in the league .

Our WR corp is mediocre outside of AJ and needs help, pure and simple. Even the Texans realize this, (though I suppose whether or not Mason for a 7th is a better deal than Lloyd for a 5th is another thread) even if some of the fans don't.

We would be unstoppable with Marshall. I don't think it's the pick that's the problem. It's probably the money, right?

Please, this is the Texans we are talking about. That FO is full of dumbasses I swear.

A shame because I love each and everyone of those players minus Creamed Jackson and Jacoby Jones.

Marshall would make sense but the FO doesn't have any sense of urgency. Why would they if they know their job will be safe no matter what and their owner apparently accepts mediocrity.

Ric has got to be one of the biggest Texans FO apologists around. Kubiak and Uncle Bob can do no wrong in his eyes.

Maybe Ric is Rick Smith? :p

Max - "Mr. Wade Phillips Doesn't Count as a Defensive Upgrade": Those guys don't play defense; it takes 22+ to win in the NFL. They lost 6 games last year in which they scored 23 or more points.

Since 2008, they've moved up and down the field when Schaub's been healthy. They didn't suffer too terribly when he wasn't healthy. I don't see how a "legit" #2 WR makes them better. Their issues have, IMO, been almost entirely personnel-related: Players leaving easy plays on the field (bad passes, drops, missed kicks, goal line stuffing, etc., etc.)

You would trade Andre Johnson, Arian Foster and Owen Daniels for Wes Welker, uhm... RB guy and Aaphen GronHernandez - or whoever - really? And those three for Colston, Ingram and Graham? Jennings, Grant and Finley? And even if you say, "Yes! Yes, I would!" - hey, guess what?!! That still leaves 28 teams.

We're talking about the same FO that hired Wade Phillips and signed Jonathan Joseph and Daniel Manning, like, three months ago, right?

Please, this is the same FO that gives countless chances to Creamed Jackson even though he blows plays after plays and plain sucks but they still play him because they drafted him so damn high in the 1st place.

Also the same FO that kept Kubiak even though he never produced a winning team on the field for the past half decade?

The same FO that still hasn't addressed the #2 corner and WR spots? AJ needs some help and re-signing Jokeby Jones was a terrible move.

To summarize Ric from multiple threads, the Texans have:

    * amongst the best skill position players in the league
    * A really good reasonably clutch QB
    * An offensive genius at HC
    * A great DC
    * An good, aggressive front office

They are so talented that a legit #2 WR wouldn't help them at all.

    Yet, they are 3-3.
