Yup... everyone knows that race is a sensitive subject, but it goes both ways. We have all heard of minorities being sensitive on racial issues. However, people need to understand that the inverse is true too. Many of these tea baggers do not view themselves as racists, they believe that everyone gets a fair shake... they believe that racism is often times spouted unjustifiably... thus they are VERY much sensitive. They would vote for Cain as long as he mimicked their beliefs, but the second that Cain mentions racism ... they dismiss him.... he is done with the tea party faithful, they will move on.... he never really fit in anyway.

They do not see it as calling out racism. They view it as a rental property, and that was the name of the place before his parents used the property. Further, they view it as private property, and no one elses business.

You and I are shocked and horrified.... they are not.

    You're not shocked and horrified.

    You're pretending to be.

That's the point. You don't rent a place called N*****head. I know it's not theirs, but they rented it and for years left it with the name in place.

Now you're acting shocked that someone would disagree with you in the D&D.

You don't know the half of it. My brother went to Harvard the same time Keyes did back in the early 70s and got to know the guy. He was just as big a nut back then as now. A truly unique character.

I know... I did not know that there was even a place called N***head. How racist do you have to be to name a place that? Wouldn't you not want to name your place after a group you dislike?

I can hear the excuses... it isn't his place, it is his parents... he didn't name it that...

etc.. they simply have no sensitivity for it.... but they themselves are very sensitive to anyone that questions their motives... look at Rick Perry after he questioned the tea parties heart... look at Cain after he even slightly discusses race...

I have tried hard to understand both sides, I thought, this many people cannot be insane, not possible... and I understand some of it (although most of that I do not agree with).

I don't care if someone disagrees with me or not.
I find it funny that you think you know how I feel or what my politics are when you have never met me, do not know my name, where I live, where I came from or whom I have and probably will vote for... If you really were not so defensive, and read what I wrote, then you would not jump to conclusions... regardless... so be it.

you are right - i was listening to talk radio today and people were jumping all over cain for playing the "race card" - he was asked a question and answered it - and he wasnt inflammatory or disrespectful towards ricky-boy. i thought he was spot on w/ his comments and i dont see how anyone could disagree w/ him.

what is more amazing than the fact that people are attacking cain is that this is causing people to rally around pointy-boots - its just bizarre.

Well actually you inferred what other people "felt" when you said "they are not" shocked or horrified.

I know what the told me....

or... take the word of tea bagger and Haskell County Judge David Davis, "It's just a name…Like those are vertical blinds. It's just what it was called."

    Desensitized perhaps?

I love this reply to everything, and I've started sprinkling into every manner of daily conversation, with just as much relevance as your post.

"Hey, B-Bob, can you pass the parmesan cheese?"
"Oh, you mean like some people give Obama a pass?!?!11? Like THAT, huh?!"

"B-Bob, how are you doing today?"
"Like you even care how OBAMA is doing, or er WHAT he is doing to our COUNTRY!!1!"

this latest issue represents the disconnect between blacks and conservatives. this isn't an issue of pr or liberal media. black people expect a sign like that to be torn down, and if it wasn't a strong apology for it being there.

there is no, "so and so is making this a race issue". if you want blacks to seriously consider your candidates, strongly denounce stuff like this when it happens.

    thank you

Hahahah now he's saying the biggest mistake he made was entering the debates.

Yeah, no kidding. Or how about the race in general.
