Only so much he can do there? He can win a championship there, just like any place else. He has no reason to be dissatisfied with his future in Orlando. If he loves the city so damn much, he should stay and try to win a championship. If he wants to leave anyway, he wants to go the biggest markets, which ain't Houston. I don't particularly want to see Howard crying under his towel on a Houston bench because where he really wants to be is in NYC but 'he loves Houston so much!'
If I remember correctly, someone who said this core will win 2 rings in the next 5 years. Was that you?
Yes it was him. Anyways, sorry to be a debbie downer but we simply do not have the pieces to trade for Howard. Maybe CP3 if we dangle Lowry and some other fillers, but whats the point? He'll just bolt to NY after his contract is up anyways unless you convince him that we will get Howard similar to what Walsh said to Amare regarding Melo.
Dude it is really hard to tell if people are serious or joking. I personally found it hilarious. Anyways, The Nets and Lakers will probably be the most attractive choices for him. But I think he should only join a team with one of the top PGs in the game like CP3, D-Will, Kidd or Nash.
Drop the Dwight to Houston fantasies. He's got a case of glamor fever and cow town isn't on his radar. I think his most likely destination is the Lakers or Bulls.
In terms of assets (excluding picks) I think the nuggest are a sleeper. They basically got an entire starting lineup for melo and i think they have a lot of solid players to dangle. but they dont have a big market lol My theory is not to worry about getting a player and worrying about them bolting. From what i've noticed, once a player is acquired, it is alot easier to convince them to stay. for example, dwill wasnt too thrilled about being on the nets but with the promises of a new arena and another superstar, he's staying. So if we could get one of the two, I think we can hol onto them and convince them that we can get another superstar. If we cant, we can just trade the player for solid picks, Te's and players
We couldn't even field competitive offers for an unsigned Melo and Deron. To get someone of MVP caliber like Howard all of our prospects would have to be home runs.
Thats not accurate. I remember reading a quote that we were competitive but being in the same conference hurt us.
That's probably the only thing we got going for us to land Howard, but the Lakers and even Clippers have a better offer. Bynum and Jordan trump anything we can offer. Also, why would Hornets trade CP3 to a division rival?
