http://blogs.orlandosentinel.com/sp...ight-howard-sounds-frustrated-in-orlando.html We need to trade everything we have at the deadline for CP3 and Howard. Keep Martin and Patterson and trade everything else to get them here.
I don't want to burst your bubble, but you could trade the whole houston rockets and you still couldn't get a nibble for just one of those players. And, you think you can get both AND keep Patterson and Martin. Wow, just wow.
My prediction is that he gets traded to Brooklyn for Brook Lopez and some fillers or if Orlando doesn't want to keep him East, he gets traded to the Lakers for Bynum and fillers. CP3 will probably end up in New York to play with his buddies Melo and Amare.
We definitely do not have enough for Howard, our selection of picks are not going to beat Bynum or Lopez. The only way we get Howard if if Thabeet or Hill learn to play baksetball this season and get enough playing time to show off. We might be able to get Chris Paul, but he'll just bolt for NY (no way NY has anything to trade for Paul)
If we can get CP3 first, then it may be possible to get Howard. I wonder if Lowry and some other pieces could get it done. The key would be to keep Martin and possibly Patterson, but that would be one of the 1st players both teams would ask for. A core of CP3/Martin/Howard would be insane, possibly better than the Heatles. Finding role players would be easy, since most would play for cheap to go for the ring just like with the Heat.
Man do I miss the Bird, Johnson, Jordan era. Those guys were true champions. None of this teaming up with other stars bs.
Like I said, CP3 is easy to get, I just don't know how we get Howard, unless Orlando falls in love with Thabeet or we sign him outright. I do think a team of: CP3/Flynn Martin/Lee Morris/Bud Scola Howard is a viable contender, I just don't see us bringing over Howard. And unless we bring him or another star, CP3 would bolt outta here.
I need to trade everything I have for a 40% ownership stake in Apple and Microsoft. Keep my house and my car and trade everything else to get them here.
Well the question is, who is going to offer more for an unsigned Howard? We can empty the coffers to land both, even unsigned. Not many others can do that outright. New Jersey is the only one I can see and even then they might say, why not just wait till the offseason?
If Dwight Howard had Kevin Mchale, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, or Scottie Pippen on his team he might not be considering switching teams either.
saw this earlier, but it's just pointing in LA's direction once again. I still think he wont come here because he wants to act. I used to think he'd be a Laker, but won't be surprised to see him as a Clipper.
Let's reunite CP3 and Tyson Chandler in Houston. That's a much more viable solution than Howard and CP3. If Morris pans out, Terrence Williams steps up big time and becomes a non-ball hogging effective swing man (I'm hoping for this, dude has the tools), or C-Bud learns how to play defense.... That's a championship team. CP3/Flynn Martin/Lee Budinger/Williams/Morris Scola/Patterson Chandler
We don’t have what it takes to trade for Dwight. That’s why I’m hoping Dwight won’t get traded and hits free agency instead. This harder cap they’re trying to implement will be good for the Rockets in regards to being players for D12 free agency. It curbs this forming superteams business, so Dwight might be less likely to team up with another max player and only have the cap space for a meager supporting cast. As this article shows, a 50% BRI split would mean a lower, probably about $50M cap. We’re one of the few teams who can offer Dwight a max contract under that cap restraint in 2012 AND give him a rock solid supporting cast. If he joined a team like the Nets, they’d have two max contract players, and then basically crappy players with no room to sign anyone else.
