Give us all a basic summary of what type of Libertarian you are. Are you Tea Party extremist? Or moderate. Honestly, a Libertarian can be many, many different things.
I'm so extreme, its ridiculous! I believe everybody should be entirely self-sufficient. Money be damned! I'll teach my chilluns how to live amongst nature and eat squirrels and how to hunt with automatic assault rifles. Most importantly, I'll teach them how to make their own bullets. That's the American way!
A moron is someone who calls 53 trillion $$$ of debt good economic policy. 5 yrs. from now the moron democrats will still be pointing the finger at the moron republicans and visa versa while the country burns. As long as you can blame someone else I guess you aren't responsible. Since the civil war this country has been socially and educationally engineered towards a global economy based upon central bank's manipulation of debt. Debt destroys wealth. period. end of game.
But will the libertarian patrons the Koch brothers take $40k and let our democracy alone? The Kochs can start funding the Cato Institute, stop funding the Tea Party and stop funding endowed chairs of conservative economics at universities around the country. As far as Ron Paul I think he needs to go back and give some free obstetric care to poor women in his district since his politics would not allow them to afford care and abolishing their right to minimum wage at Walmart won't help either. He advocates abolishing public health clinics and replacing them with private charity so he should lead by example.
exactly - you notice it is his detractors that are making an issue out of this. this is not an issue that is going to sway any voters one way or the other and i dont think anyone believes otherwise. the notion that a presidential candidate could be criticized for something like this is ridiculous.
BTW, I saw Ron Paul yesterday but didn't get to speak with him, my son talked to him, but he was driving away by the time I got to the restaurant. I hope to meet with him for some visits after he gets out of the race, he's hard to meet with right now.
while I agree that the uber rich have probably been putting in 70 hour work weeks since they got out of business school, I disagree that the $40,000 salary on a 40 hour work week with benefits and vacation cannot equal "The American Dream"
I was going to make fun of him until I saw that he's forsaking the congressional pension. That's a lot of money he has already given up. I don't agree with his position, but I gotta respect him putting his money where his mouth is there.
Debt stimulates the economy. You do realize that the reason that the economy sucks right is because banks aren't lending, thus not enabling growth in the business sector, right?
Breaking news: Ron Paul will take $0 in presidential salary. In other news, let's eliminate the Department of the Interior. Arches National Park, brought tou you by McDonalds. Native American schools brought to you by... nobody. (Not to mention tribal relations are government-to-government interactions.) And the Department of Energy... I guess we'll have the Koch brothers responsible for spiriting weapons grade plutonium out of the former USSR and let them run the national labs as well. Commerce? No need for economic reports, patent and trademark protection, technological standards, or the census. While we're at it, we can just let Accuweather take over the National Weather Service even though they get all their stuff from the NWS. Education? Yes please. I want every kid in Mississippi going to schools designed by local people. What could go wrong? And screw those special needs kids. HUD? I don't really know that much about them, but I'm guessing if i was a black guy or a gay guy and HUD didn't exist to enforce equal housing opportunities, it might be tough to rent a place.
