So I just heard about this game but apparently it's nearly out. 10/18/11 It's pretty much a teaching aid too since you play it with a real guitar. I've always wanted to learn guitar so I'm pumped about it. http://rocksmith.ubi.com/rocksmith/en-US/home/ <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rYzoavA8B_8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I bought an acoustic a few years back with the intent of learning but never got far. It doesn't have the jack required to plug into an amp (and thus the Xbox/PS3) so I will probably buy a new guitar just for the game. Groupon just happens to have a deal right now for a Fender Starcaster starter kit with amp etc for $129. http://www.groupon.com/deals/gg-fen...er&s=body&d=deal-page&p=2&c=deal_product-name
What a great concept. I do feel like this will be aimed more towards the older crowds who want to actually learn to play as opposed the younger kids would rather just play plastic guitars for mega points.
I can't even begin to think about when it was the last time that I looked up at the score and said: "Yeah! 30 ba-jillion more points today!" What I'm saying is... no one looks at the points anymore. All you care about now is finishing the game and going on to the next stage... now. Don't you? I know I do and so do most of the peeps with whom I play.
Plenty of people care about points. Otherwise there wouldn't be online Leaderboards. And plenty of people care more than just going on to the next stage, that's why they have Achievements.
The game actually comes with a bundle package with a guitar for $199. It's a Les Paul junior guitar versus the Starcaster I listed. That one got good reviews in the previews I've read. I don't have a PS3 so I ordered one today. And then I ordered the Rocksmith bundle. So $450 today spent. I better learn how to play guitar. lol
I've been keeping an eye on this for a while. unfortunately, I don't have a guitar, or any console that it will be out on. I've been wanting to learn guitar though. if functional, this is a game many have been waiting for.
Comes out tomorrow. My dreams of being a Rockstar are close to coming true. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/fmPECqHZIr4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
so is there a technical reason this won't come out for wii? I would totally be into this, but I'm not buying an xbox or a ps3 on the back end of their longevity just for it.
When i learned how to play guitar I used powertabs... It's a free program that shows what to play and when to play it... There is also guitar pro, its a better program and you can get it on torrents... Helped me a lot.
Im interested in getting it but I'd like to see the rest of the track list and a review first. It looks pretty legit though.
I could't think of any reason. It just needs a USB port, which the Wii has 2 of. But after searching I found this on their Facebook page
Looks awesome, regardless. It needs to have a chord and scale section for actually, you know, learning how to play guitar, instead of just emulating freebird etc. rep for requested info, Y.
Not sure why it's not on their official page but here is the list from Gaming Vault. Really solid if you ask me. http://www.thegamingvault.com/2011/10/official-rocksmith-setlist/ Here it is, folks. This is the full Rocksmith setlist, coming on October 18th from Ubisoft. I know you waited patiently. They said their song list was focused on what would be the best guitar song... not just overall song. Either way, I've wanted to learn guitar forever. I think this is my best last chance at it, being the gamer I am.
