    Thread locked?!

MJ was there for our second ring. His bulls just couldn't match Shaq and the magic.

On the Rockets vs. Bulls debate

I finally got a chance to talk to Michael Jordan years [later] over at Barkley's house and he thought that the best matchup they would have had during that era was against us because of the way Max used to play him and how our big guys used to dominate their inside.

Anyone who mentions "Rockets Championship" and "Jordan" should just be ignored... for life. We know the type of people they are and it would be best if we all just forget the exist.

Us Rockets fans understand how Neil Armstrong felt when 1 billion people come up to him and say the moon landing was fake.

Six of Red Auerbach's nine championships were tainted because Jordan hadn't been born.

All Championships (not '94-'95) are tainted.

Have we neglected the truest truism of that era ... that the single greatest player on the planet from c'93 - c'97 was wearing #34, Hakeem 'The Dream' Olajuwon.

BTW - - his Airness has always affirmed Hakeem as the greatest 5 of the generation. And for a few years the GOTP! (Greatest on the Planet)!!!

I've had this conversation with this type of "fan" before.

First thing you have to see if he's worthy of arguing with you.
Some of these cliff notes NBA fans are not very knowledgeable.

Don't even talk about the Rockets until you know if he knows anything about the Bulls.

I had a heated argument with this dude and I said, dude, just name me the starters on the Bulls early championships beside Pippen and Jordan.

    He didn't get it right.

Also ask, who's Michael Jordan's first Bulls coach, if he says Phil Jackson, then you don't even need to talk to him at all.

These cliff notes fans can't tell you if Rodman or Horace Grant were on which teams.

And of course, the public got brainwashed and forgot the Bulls were eliminated with Jordan against Shaq and Penny.

But hey, if I had the power to brainwash people like that, I'd use it.

These are the pertinent results because this was the first 3 peat Bulls teams.

The championship Bulls (1st edition) was (1-5) against the Rockets.

Keep in mind, these Rockets got Robert Horry as a rookie in 93, and this was against a Rockets team WITHOUT Sam Cassell.

Kenny Smith + Sam Cassell > BJ Armstrong + Paxon

As mentioned by the true witnesses of this matchup, we had success against them because :

    1. Dream > the Bulls front line, starters and bench combined
    2. Single covering Jordan with Maxwell

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/play-index/h2h_finder.cgi?request=1&p1=maxweve01&p2=jordami01

The most Jordan ever scored against Maxwell (as a Rocket) is 35. Of course that's also because Dream dominated the paint.
As mentioned a billion times, Jordan has acknowledged Mad Max as a good defender

As for the early 80s, no way the Bulls could handle the Twin Towers, that team made the NBA Finals.

Newbs: Twin Towers = Ralph Sampson + Akeem
