For those of you saying Mcintosh did everything right are apparently missing the part of the video where his co-workers are trying to stop him from continuing to beat the two women. Clutch's analysis is exactly right. He acted lawfully to defend himself initially but once they were down he is in the wrong. While we can't see what condition the women were in when they were down behind the counter the fact that his coworkers tried to stop him at that point shows that they didn't feel they represented a threat at all.
I am ignorant for not reading your prior posts, forgive me, but please explain why gender matters in the legality of his actions A lesbian of the masculine role is more threatening than an effeminate male
There's a lot of things we can't see. He should have done everything in his control in order to avoid the confrontation. Were there any rooms he could run inside of and waited for the police? Were they trying to get up, preventing him from running to the other side? The truth is he could have defended himself with his bare hands. Women are weaker than most men, and those two don't look like they are any sort of exception. He screwed up when he got the golf club and started attacking them.
Looking into whether the employee passed a background check is fine, I have no problem with that. My problem with the article is that it presented the facts in an order that fails to paint a full picture of the story, and has strategic omissions in order to shape the perception of it's readers. 1. Their video clip and description of events in the article start halfway through the beating, omitting a lot of information 2. The quote from the father: "From what I understand, this guy just viscously beat my daughter," paints an image that the beating was unprovoked. If everything is presented in context and in order, you'll draw a completely different conclusion 3. The slap in the face and jumping over the counter are only addressed in passing, after they've taken the time to shape the readers opinion with divisive language only used when describing the cashier. 4. There was no effort to present the cashier's perspective - if a person is callous enough to slap you in the face, jump the counter, and chase after you for something as innocuous as holding her $50 bill to the light, you better assume she's dangerous. 5. What are the prior convictions of the two girls? do they have any? I may not have all the facts, and the conclusions I've come to based on what I've seen and read may be misinformed. But to take what little facts we do have, present them in a manner where the reader is intentionally lead to a conclusion, and then slap your news organization logo on it, is (in my opinion) irresponsible journalism. Perhaps I'm being overly critical, but I expected better. Also, I think I typed too much. Here are some dancing bears:
Obviously the dude took it too far this wasnt a stick up I'm not sure what time of the day it was but I'm guessing its late night 2 drunk "women" that just got out clubbing got no **** and got no money and looking for a fight. Sure they were a threat at first hit punch thats fine but once they are in the fetal posistion you cant keep crushing their skull.. McDonalds isnt exactly a steakhouse and you have a record he should know his surroundings and know you gotta walk away sometimes! They're all trash and should be locked up.
No telling what they could have done to him if they got back up. Every move they made to get back up is a threat, and he dealt with it. Good for him.
Court still has to check how the witnesses came to that valuation. They could've been wrong. But, man, I just love this story. Two ghetto chicks assaulting an ex-con in a McDonald's? Priceless.
That's exactly what I'm thinking, he doesn't know what they could do once they got back up, when they tried getting to their feet, he simply put them back down. Like him, I wouldn't risk anything, they came after him, he made sure they weren't capable of trying again.
If you're getting hit in the skull with a metal rod I don't think you will be getting up anytime soon...
no need to whip the women that hard for leaving the kitchen... praise them for returning positive reinforcement
The bigger of the two girls was trying to get up though. You can see her for just a second before he goes swinging again, he stopped but she didn't do the smart thing.
you can't defend what he did. I still feel bad for him. He spent so much of his life in prison. He served his time and he's working. It's not a great job. But he is back apart of society. He was so quick to get enraged. Sucks.
I thought I recognized Lebron! Hey...how many times did you hit them with that metal rod? Not one, not two, not three,.......not seven.....
i agree with self defense, but went too far....unfortunately customers think they can verbally abuse employees and the employees just have to take it. In this case it even escalated to physical abuse. The way she ran her mouth it was a just a matter of time before someone beat her.
